The America II, competitor in the 1987 America’s Cup Sailing Competition in Freemantle, Australia and one of the last 12 Metre sailing vessels built, is a sailor’s dream. This racing machine features an 85-foot-tall mast. She is solid, fast and features two steering wheels and a wide cockpit where you and your guest along with four other passengers and the crew will control her speed and high performance. Throughout this New York Sailing Adventure, your Captain and crew guide you as you help trim the sheets and grind the winches!

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Sails take place on the Moët & Chandon 12 Meter "America II", Flagship of the Manhattan Sailing Club. This vessel is skippered by a USCG-licensed Captain and their crew. The 12-metre class is a group of sailing vessels were are all designed to a particular formula, so as to make the boats involved in a competition roughly comparable, while still giving individuals the freedom to experiment with the details of their designs. The first 12-metres were built in 1907 and the last in 1987. Participation in the America II Sailing Experience is limited to individuals 10 years of age or older. Individuals who are pregnant, have broken bones or other physical conditions which are considered unsafe conditions are not eligible to participate. While motion sickness is possible, it is unlikely and can be reduced by avoiding heavy meal(s) prior to the scheduled sail. Participants are required to sign a Liability Release Form. |
