Experience the thrill of riding in a Hot Air Balloon during this exciting airborne adventure over the beautiful picturesque landscape of Southern New Hampshire. Your experience begins an hour north of Boston in North Salem, NH where you will meet your friendly Pilot, Andre, and the rest of the participants. Once you reach the launch location, you and the rest of the Crew will aid the Pilot with the inflation of the balloon at Sunrise.

When you are ready, you will climb into the basket as the Pilot continues to heat the air inside the balloon. When it becomes lighter than air the Balloon will gracefully ascend to over 1,000 feet, offering breathtaking views of the beautiful New Hampshire Countryside, so don’t forget your camera!

Upon landing you will be greeted by the Crew who will help escort you back to your vehicles and share in a traditional champagne toast. So whether you are looking for a unique gift or for a way to celebrate a special occasion, this New England Balloon Ride is the ticket!

The Boston Hot Air Balloon Rides are offered seven days a week April thru October, subject to availability. Flights take place at sunrise, meeting times will vary upon the time of year the flight is scheduled.

The New England Balloon Rides have a flight time of approximately 1 hour and a total duration of approximately 3 hours.

Weather

The Boston Balloon Flight experience is dependent on favorable weather, and can only fly when the conditions are safe. Flights may be rescheduled by the Pilot due to high winds, heavy rain, fog or other inclement weather.

What To Wear

Dress comfortably, flat rubber-soled shoes such as sneakers and layers are recommended for this open air adventure. Shorts and dresses are not recommended. High heels and flip flops are prohibited. Please keep in mind that morning launch sites are usually damp due to dew or snow.

Flights are Piloted by Andre Boucher who has over 23 years of experience and a flawless safety record. Participation in the Hot Air Balloon Experience is limited to individuals weighing less than 220lbs and less than 6'5" tall. Passengers weighing over 200 pounds are subject to a weight surcharge.

Participants must be able to stand for a minimum of 90 minutes, should be at least 8 years of age and also a minimum of 4' tall. In general, participants should be able to jump off a chair (18 inches high) and be able to get in and out of the basket, unassisted.

Individuals who are pregnant, have broken bones or other physical conditions which are considered by the Pilot to be unsafe conditions are not eligible to participate.

Participants are required to sign a Liability Release Form prior to flight. If the participant is under the age of 18 a parent or guardian will need to sign the form prior to participation.

Gratuity for your Pilot is not included and may be extended following your flight.

Wonderful experience!

We had a great time with Andre and his crew. The weather was fantastic (out of their control, I know), and the crew was experienced and made us feel safe and well-taken care of. We ended the morning with a champagne toast and with learning about the history of hot air ballooning.

Question: What should I bring on the balloon flight? Is there room in the basket for me to bring a bag?

Answer: Space on the balloon is limited. Unfortunately there isn't room to bring a bag in the basket but a camera is a must!
Question: I am very enthusiastic about ballooning and would love to learn more about it. Are we limited to just riding in the balloon basket or will we have the opportunity to participate in the set up and break down of the balloon?

Answer: While you're not required to help with the setup or take down of the balloon, you are encouraged to participate as it adds to your ballooning experience. However, if you prefer you may just watch the experienced crew inflate and deflate the balloon.
Question: How does the pilot steer the balloon? Do you know where we will land and how we get back to our cars?

Answer: During the flight, the pilot's ability to direct the balloon is dependent on the wind. The Pilot will manipulate the balloon by heating the air inside of the balloon or allowing it to cool down which will then enable the balloon to climb or descend. Throughout the flight, the Pilot's Crew will follow the group in a chase van. Once the Pilot sets the basket down, his Crew will be there to greet you and eventually escort you back to your vehicle.
Question: My dad is turning 80 and I'd love to purchase an exciting gift for him, however he's in a wheelchair. Would hot air ballooning be appropriate for him?

Answer: Participants need to be able to stand for 90 minutes and be able to climb in and out of a 4' high basket. Unfortunately the hot air balloon experience is not recommended for people with limited mobility or those under 4' tall.
Question: I'd like to propose to my girlfriend on the hot air balloon flight. Can I request the pilot fly over a 'Will You Marry Me' sign if I lay it out beforehand?

Answer: You are welcome to propose to your girlfriend on the flight, however because the pilot's ability to steer the hot air balloon is dependent upon the wind he cannot guarantee they can fly over your sign. We also recommend using a substitute or 'dummy' ring as they can be hard to find if dropped from over 1000 feet!
Question: Why are flights offered at Sunrise?

Answer: Hot Air Ballooning is extremely dependent upon appropriate wind and weather conditions. Launches take place early in the morning at Sunrise because this is when the winds are calmest. As safety is of the highest priority, flights will not take place when the conditions are not favorable for a safe flight, i.e when there is a chance of low visibility due to fog, rain, snow or excessive wind.
Question: The person that I'd like to buy this gift for weighs 300lbs, is that a problem?

Answer: Participation in the Hot Air Balloon Experience is limited to individuals weighing less than 220lbs. (Passengers weighing over 200 pounds are subject to a weight surcharge.) Individuals weighing more than 220lbs may still enjoy the flight, however the would be required to purchase two tickets.
