During this tasty three-hour food tour, you and your guest will enjoy a unique cultural perspective of this delicious college town sprinkled with historical tidbits of North Carolina.

Led by a local and knowledgeable guide, your tasty three-mile leisurely journey through Downtown Chapel Hill & Carrboro's lesser-known eateries may include a visit to:

· Crook's Corner Restaurant, touted by the Raleigh News & Observer as “a temple of Southern cuisine",

· Talulla Restaurant to sample their authentic Turkish cuisine,

· 411 West, an Italian restaurant specializing in seasonal fresh pastas, wood-fired pizzas, fresh seafood, steaks, and specials inspired by the flavors of Italy and the Mediterranean.

Overall, you will visit between seven and nine local eateries during the culinary tour and learn about Chapel Hill’s rich history and diverse cuisine on Franklin Street and Carrboro’s Main Street restaurant specialties. Whether you are a native to the hometown of UNC or this is your first visit to the Research Triangle Area, this delicious Scenic Culinary Walking Tour is one of the best things to do in Chapel Hill and makes a great gift for any occasion.

Who
The Chapel Hill Food Tour Xperience Certificate® is for two participants. You will be joined by up to 8 additional participants on the tour.

Guests
This experience is not suitable for non-paying guests.

When
The Chapel Hill Food Tour Experience is offered on select Saturday afternoons February thru November, subject to availability. Tours begin at 2:30 PM.

Duration
The Chapel Hill Food Tour Experience has a tour length of approximately 3 hours and a total duration of approximately 3½ hours.

Weather
The Chapel Hill Food Tour Experience may be cancelled due to inclement weather.

What to wear
Dress comfortably, flat rubber-soled shoes and layers (depending on the season) are recommended for this open-air adventure. Flip-flops, high heels and dress-shoes are not recommended.

Additional Information
All tastings are included. However you may wish to bring cash to purchase additional items during the tour. Unfortunately, due to the nature of the experience no substitutions can be made. Eateries visited are subject to change.

This is a walking tour, therefore participants must be able to walk between two and three miles.

Gratuities are not included but are greatly appreciated and may be offered at the end of the event.

Cancellation Policy
All changes to reservations for the Chapel Hill Food Tour Experience require fourteen (14) days advance notice.

Xperience Certificates® cannot be exchanged once a reservation for the experience has been made.

Chapel Hill Food Tour

We so enjoyed our travels and tastings through the streets of Chapel Hill and Carrboro. Our guide was great, and we were introduced to a few restaurants that we would love to visit again. The presentations of the restaurants were quite nice, and the afternoon......a delight! Will probably do the Xperience Days again!!

Food Tour Review

We had a great time and are considering doing a Raleigh & Durham tour (in cooler weather). The tour was well organized and the tour guide very knowledgable. The food was delicious and we can't wait to return to most locations. Mint, Panzanella and Glasshalful are top on our list. Vimala's was our least favorite stop. We loved the story and the tea but thought the food was average. Maybe it was because Mint was so good or maybe because it was the end of a very hot day. Again, the experience was wonderful and look forward to future tours.
