Enjoy a luxurious wine and cheese tasting sail aboard the Shearwater, a Newport-style schooner yacht recognized as a national landmark! During this two hour scenic Sail you will have the chance to take in the stunning skyline of New York City while sampling delicious premium wines.

The fun begins when you board the Sherwater and meet the friendly Captain and Crew. You may choose to help raise the sails or sit back and soak up the sun. Feel the breeze as you sail south down the Hudson River along Battery Park passing by Ellis Island for a beautiful view of the Statue of Liberty. During the Sail you will be visited by Wine Experts who will present a carefully curated selection of wine. You will have the chance to sip and savor several different wines paired with gourmet cheese and charcuterie all while taking in the panoramic views of the Big Apple Skyline.

The Wine Tasting Sails of New York have a sail time of approximately 2 hours and a total duration of approximately 2¾ hours.

The New York Sails may be rescheduled by the Captain due to high winds, heavy rain, fog or other inclement weather.

What To Wear

Dress comfortably, flat, non-marking rubber-soled shoes, layers and sunglasses are recommended for this sailing adventure. Please do not wear heels or boots that could potentially scuff the deck.

The Shearwater is a classic Newport-style schooner yacht, recognized in 2009 as a national landmark. The vessel was built by Rice Brother Corporation in East Boothbay, Maine and was first launched on May 4, 1929. According to documentations th Shearwater has a colorful history and has been carefully maintained and restored to standards that few contemporary vessels are able to match and is truly a piece of American Maritime History.

Sail with wine experts and enjoy a variety of eclectic wines paired with cheese and charcuterie. Each sail features a different selection highlighting a country, trend or theme.

Participants MUST be 21 years of age or older and show a valid form of government issued Photo ID. The Shearwater is not wheelchair accessible.
