This exciting whitewater raft-n-rail experience is sure to be an annual tradition! Your rafting adventure begins with check-in at the rafting center where you and your guest will be able to leave a duffle bag or back pack with a change of dry clothes, waiting for your return from the whitewater rafting portion of the trip.

Next, you will be taken fourteen miles upstream to a location known as Salt Lick where the rafting portion of your experience begins. The Bighorn Sheep Canyon offers nine miles of exciting and splashy whitewater through a number of Cass II and III rapids. While navigating the rapids you may see Bighorn Sheep, Golden Eagles and other wildlife along the rugged canyon slopes. Once your whitewater rafting trip concludes, your change of clothes will be waiting for you and you will be escorted to the train upon its arrival.

After you've changed, the Rail portion of your experience begins. This scenic Royal Gorge Route has been in existence since the 1880’s and was billed as the “Scenic Line of the World” by the Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad. Vehicles will be waiting for you at the end of the scenic 12 mile journey and you will be chauffeured back to your vehicle. This is a perfect outdoor adventure to share and makes an excellent gift for any occasion.

Who
The Colorado Raft-N-Rail Adventure For Two Xperience Certificate® is for two participants. You will be joined by additional participants in the raft and on the train.

Guests
This experience is not suitable for non-paying guests.

When
The Colorado Raft-N-Rail Adventure Experience is offered seven days a week the end of May thru mid-September, subject to availability. Coach Class Trips Depart at 10:00 AM and return at 3:00 PM, Vista Dome and Wine Express Trips Depart at 2:00 PM and return at 6:00 PM. Please arrive 45 minutes prior to departure.

Duration
The Colorado Raft-N-Rail Adventure Experience includes a 9 mile rafting trip and a 12 mile train ride and is approximately 6 hours in total.

Weather
The Colorado Raft-N-Rail Adventure Experience may be cancelled due to high winds, heavy rain or other inclement weather, and low water levels. All decisions to cancel, move, or postpone scheduled trips will be made by the Guide the day of the reservation.

What to wear
Dress comfortably, and bring a change of clothing for the train ride. Recommended items include a water bottle, swimsuit, shorts, t-shirt, a fleece or jacket, outdoor sandals or non-slip sneakers, sunglasses or hat and sunscreen.

Additional Information
Your rafting experience will take place with a Professional Guide and includes all rafting gear, and life jackets. Unless the Vista Dome or Wine Express Option is selected, you will enjoy lunch (included in price) along the banks of the river prior to the train ride. During the train ride, you will enjoy Coach Class seating with access to the observation car. Participants are advised to be well rested. Please avoid drinking alcohol 24 hours prior to the scheduled experience. Individuals who are pregnant, have broken bones or other physical conditions such as heart or lung conditions, severe asthma, back problems, recent surgery, obesity or osteoporosis or any other condition which is considered unsafe are not eligible to participate. The recommended minimum age/size for participants is 7 years old and 50 pounds.

Drivers cannot be responsible for wallets, jewelry, etc while you are on the river. We suggest that you take a small amount of pocket money or a credit card with you if you plan to order concessions while on the train, for purchases at the gift shop at the Santa Fe Depot, or if you wish to offer your guide a gratuity following your raft trip. You may use your car as a locker for all valuables and the Rafting Office will keep your keys behind their counter while you are on the trip.

All Participants must check in 45 minutes prior to scheduled departure. Participants are required to sign a Liability Release Form.

Cancellation Policy
All changes to reservations for the Colorado Raft-N-Rail Adventure require fourteen (14) days advance notice.

All cancellations for the Colorado Raft-N-Rail Adventure Experience are subject to a $35 cancellation fee. Xperience Certificates® cannot be exchanged once a reservation for the experience has been made.
