Step into the shoes of a beekeeper on this hour and a half beekeeping tour and honey tasting experience in Texas – just a stone’s throw away from downtown Austin.

On this visit to a traditional apiary, you will learn about the joyous art of beekeeping, all while taking in the sweet smells and sights of a Texan ranch. Your instructor and tour guide is a professional beekeeper with a passion for the craft that will leave you buzzing for a go yourself! You'll gear up in a protective suit, grab your smoker and visit the teaming beehives. After collecting some fresh honey, you’ll enjoy the delicious fruits of your labor and taste a variety of honeys produced at the ranch.

This hive tour and honey tasting experience makes a unique gift experience for anyone who loves spending time outdoors, and learning about the wonders of the natural world!

The Austin Honey Bee Ranch Tours are offered 1 day a week year-round, subject to availability. Tours typically begin at 11:00AM and 2:00 PM.

The Austin Bee Farm Tours have a length of 1.5 hours.

Weather

The Bee Farm Tours are weather dependent, so if rain is forecast or temperatures are below 65 degrees, please watch your email 24-48 hours before in case the tour is cancelled or rescheduled.

What To Wear

Wear long pants and a long sleeve top. Khakis, cargos, or blue jeans are fine. Stick to lighter colors on top and choose clothing that is loose fitting. Refrain from materials that are 'fuzzy' or made from sweater type materials. Do not wear perfume or heavily scented lotions - the bees are not fans of our smells. Closed-toe shoes that cover the ankle are required. Protective gear is provided.
