Dragster Ride-a-Long

This is usually off my radar - however as a gift why not - - i got there and while waiting adrenaline immediately shot up as other race teams were there too using the track and the noise was awesome. Staff was friendly and cool as cucumbers - told me what was going to happen and answered all of my questions. Got suited up and staff double checked all of the safety gear - and then the car started up - i'll never forget the rumble in my chest from that moment...700 h.p. starts forward and lines up into the gate to smoke the tires and we went 70 yards in 2 seconds.....back to the starting line, helmet shield down...yellow light goes on, driver revs the engine to a constant 5,000 or more rpm - engine - less than 12' behind my thin hard seat is very loud, can't hear myself think just looking down the track and at the lights..suddenly GREEN and we're off!! - to use the term bat out of hell is an understatement - i've never had the experience where i felt that i was actually catching up to the vanishing point of anything...the sound and wind were intense as was the vibrations of the ride... that's when i thought I can do this all day long!!! - - what a great job these guys have - thank you very much!! would be better if you sold videos of peoples rides..as it is hard for my wife to get from one point to another and capture the experience ....maybe an on board video camera - i would buy that in a minute....
