Naperville Culinary tour

5 stars

The Naperville Culinary tour was great, Mike our guide from Naperville Bites and Sites did a great job of mixing history with food and current Naperville.

This was a very informative tour with a good amount of history and a great amount of food. I've already thought about doing it again as a present to my parents. Thanks!

The actual tour was excellent. Loved hearing about the history of Naperville and saw many interesting sights. The restaurants, shops, etc. we visited were great. Yum! Our tour guide was very nice and knowledgeable. The only downside was that it was very hard to know where to wait for the start of the tour. An address was listed in my confirmation.....but that address was a HUGE building with many offices, etc. We walked around for 1/2 hour trying to find our guide or some kind of signage which would indicate where we should wait. We called the number on my confirmation sheet.....but, at first, there was no answer and the voice mail said it was a leasing company. We thought we were totally not going to be able to hook up with the tour. Very upsetting. Finally....just before the tour started, we called the number again and the guide picked up (I guess it was the number of his primary workplace during the week). It was very nerve-wracking to spend so much time not knowing where we were supposed to go at the address I was given....Especially, since we drove all the way from Milwaukee, WI and were not familiar with the area at all. After the tour got started, it was great. It made us feel like we would love to go to visit Naperville again. I think that for future culinary tours, there should be a sign put up somewhere outside the building which indicates the tour starts here.

Mike was most informative and enjoys what he does. That is why we enjoyed it - food good too. Can't predict the weather, that was the downfall.

Question: Is this tour new, how long have you been doing the Naperville food tasting tour?

Answer: The Naperville Culinary Walking Tour has been around for several years. Experience Days has only recently started working with the tour company that provides this tour, but the tour itself has been offered for some time.

Question: Is the Naperville Culinary Walking Tour wheelchair accessible?

Answer: There are 5 to 7 stops on the tour and most are wheelchair accessible. At least 1 or 2 are not. However arrangements can be made and the tour guide can bring samples out at those locations. If you or your guest uses a wheelchair please let us know when making your reservation request so we can pass it on and they can make the necessary arrangements.

Question: Is there parking nearby the tour start location?

Answer: Yes, there is plenty of free parking. Exact location details will be provided with your confirmation email once your reservation request is confirmed.

Question: What if it rains on the day of our Food Tour?

Answer: Tours are held rain, snow or shine so if the weather calls for rain be sure to bring an umbrella. In the rare case that the tour is cancelled for extreme weather the tour will be rescheduled directly with the tour company.

Question: Will we have time to stop and shop during the tour?

Answer: Due to time constraints and out of respect for others on the tour, they ask that you wait until after the tour to go back and shop. If you are visiting Chicago on vacation we recommend you take the tour at the beginning of your trip so you'll have time to go back and visit any hidden gems you find on the tour.

Question: Can they make vegetarian substitutions on the tour?

Answer: Yes as long as they know in advance. Please be sure to add the notes in your reservation request when you redeem your certificate.
