Learn to rock climb at one of the major rock climbing areas of North America, the Shawangunk Ridge (also known as the Shawangunk Mountains, or The Gunks. Pronounced by some locals as "SHONG-gum," this area is a ridge of mountains in Ulster County, Sullivan County and Orange County in the state of New York, extending from the northernmost point of New Jersey to the Catskill Mountains. Today, this area known across the country for its outdoor recreation.


This climbing experience in The Gunks is perfect for all skill levels, from the first time climber through advanced climbers. Whether you and your guest are looking for an introduction to climbing or to brush up on your climbing skills your guide will show you the ropes and have you off of the ground in no time. Typically, the experience consist of single pitch climbing and/or top-rope climbing, but can include multi-pitch climbing for more experienced climbers.
