I had a fantastic experience for my flight lesson at Dutch Country Helicopters on June 2! Darren Lucas and his team were so friendly and welcoming, both to me and to my parents (who came along with me.) Darren was thorough and encouraging, and it's clearly evident that he loves his job and wants his clients to have a wonderful experience. I highly recommend this experience to others, and I know that my family, friends, and I will make future visits to Dutch Country Helicopters!

This was the best experience I ever had. I wanted to fly a helicopter. For over 35 years never could afford it. Thanks to my wife and crew at dutch country helicopters i finally got my shot at flying, just as i thought I loved it. Flight instructor Jim is awesome he explains all the controls and gauges. The only problem I have with the whole experience is where am I gonna get more money to continue flying because I will do it again. Thanks to everybody at dutch country helicopters for a great experience. Everybody should try it.

Question: I see the product info states that there are 10-15min of on ground training; how much time in the air is there? Also, what is the location?

Answer: The Helicopter Flight Lesson In Lancaster Experience includes 10 to 15 minutes of ground instruction and an average flight time of 60 minutes. The lesson is given at the Lancaster Airport.

Question: Do I need to know how to fly a plane before I fly a helicopter?

Answer: No, the two experiences are similar, however there is no real advantage to learning one before the other.

Question: Will I get to control the helicopter?

Answer: Yes. The helicopter is equipped with dual controls and once airborne you will be able to take over as much or as little as you feel comfortable with.

Question: Do I need a valid Driver's license?

Answer: No but you need a valid ID, such as a passport. Individuals under 18 must have their parent's sign a consent form as well.

Question: I purchased the Helicopter Flight Lesson In Lancaster for my husband for his birthday. Can I ride along and take pictures.

Answer: Unfortunately no. Both of the helicopters used for the flight lessons, the Bell 47 and the Schweizer 300CBI are two seaters, and he probably prefers to have the instructor ride along with him!

Question: Are helicopters more dangerous than airplanes?

Answer: No. Helicopters can land at the first sign of trouble, even if the engine stops it can be safely landed.
