The adventure begins at the Blaine Airport located 20 minutes north of the City. Here you will meet the Pilot and board the Robinson R44 Helicopter. You may choose to enjoy either the St. Croix River & White Bear Lake Tour or the Twin City Tour. The St Croix Helicopter Tour offers spectacular views of the St. Croix River from Sommerset, WI to Stillwater, MN as well as the scenic White Bear Lake and bird’s eye views of Downtown St. Paul. The Twin City Helicopter Tour offers unparalleled views of both downtown Minneapolis and St. Paul. Throughout this tour you will enjoy skyline views of the two largest cities in Minnesota with highlights including the Metrodome, the Capital, the IDS building, and more!

The Minneapolis Helicopter Tours are offered Monday through Saturday year-round, subject to availability. Flights are typically scheduled between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM.

How Long Is It

The Scenic Flights have a tour length of 30 minutes and are typically 45 minutes in total duration, unless an Extended Flight Option is selected.

Weather

The Helicopter Flights Over Minneapolis may be rescheduled by the Pilot due to high winds, heavy rain, fog or other inclement weather.

Dress Comfortably. Flat rubber-soled shoes are recommended for this aerial adventure.

Your flight will take place on the Robinson R44 helicopter which seats three passengers plus a pilot. You may bring a video or still camera on board the flight and since every seat has a window, you will have pictures that will last a lifetime.

All participants must have a valid Government issued Photo ID (Passport or Drivers License). The maximum weight for participants may not exceed 230lbs and participants must be less than 6'3" tall. Total passenger weight cannot exceed 600lbs.

Individuals who are pregnant, have broken bones or other physical conditions which are considered unsafe conditions are not eligible to participate.

Participants are required to sign a Liability Release Form prior to flight. If the participant is under the age of 18 a parent or guardian will need to sign the form prior to participation.

Question: I'm going to give the Minneapolis Helicopter tour as a Christmas gift, but I'm not sure if they'd like to do the Twin City Tour or the St. Croix River/White Bear Lake Tour. Do I have to decide when I purchase the certificate or can I let them decide?

Answer: The certificate is valid for either tour. The recipient can choose which tour they would like when they redeem their certificate for a reservation.
Question: How much would it be to add a 3rd person to the Minneapolis Helicopter Flight Tour?

Answer: There is no additional cost to add a 3rd person. The combined weight of all three must be less than 600lbs.
Question: Can I reserve a window seat in advance?

Answer: You're in luck! All of the seats on the Robinson R44 are window seats.
Question: We're trying to incorporate a helicopter tour in Minnesota as part of a bachelor party. The 3 of us are all right around 200lbs each and I'm not sure if we'll go over. How strict are they about the weight limit?

Answer: Very Strict. The FAA sets the 600lb limit as the safety limit for that aircraft. If you are close they will weigh you and will turn you away even if you are over by a couple of pounds.
Question: I'd like to surprise my wife with a helicopter tour. She gets airsick sometimes on long commercial flights but neither of us have ever been on a helicopter before. Is it more turbulent than regular airplane?

Answer: No. Actually the rotation of the chopper blades creates a gyro effect that makes a helicopter less susceptible to turbulence than a fixed wing plane. And the duration of the flight is 30 minutes so not quite like flying from LA to New York.
Question: At what age do they require a tour participant to provide a valid photo ID?

Answer: Anyone over 16 years old must provide a valid photo ID. All participants will sign a Liability Release form prior to their flight and anyone under 18 will have to have parental consent.
Question: Can we get a refund if it's cancelled for weather?

Answer: All Experience Days certificates are non-refundable. If your helicopter tour is cancelled due to weather the tour company will reschedule with you directly.
