Your day begins by helping with the inflation of the balloon either at sunrise or sunset.

Few experiences are as serene and at the same time thrilling - the sensation of time suspended as the world glides gently by. Drift over the beautiful Hudson Valley landscape and on a clear day you can even pick out the beautiful New York City skyline.

Once landed and the balloon is packed away, you will be returned to the launch site. Your flight ends with a traditional champagne toast.

Who
The Hudson Valley Hot Air Ballooning For Two Xperience Certificate® is for two participants. There will be approximately four additional participants on the flight.

Guests
This experience is not suitable for non-paying guests.

When
The Hudson Valley Hot Air Ballooning Experience is offered Saturdays and Sundays April, May, September, October and seven days a week June thru August, subject to availability. Hudson Valley Hot Air Balloon flights take place at Sunrise and Sunset. Flight times will vary upon the time of year the flight is scheduled.

Duration
The Hudson Valley Hot Air Ballooning Experience has a flight time of approximately 1 hour and a total duration of approximately 3 hours.

Weather
The Hudson Valley Hot Air Ballooning Experience may be cancelled by the Pilot due to high winds, heavy rain, fog or other inclement weather.

What to wear
Dress comfortably, flat rubber-soled shoes and layers are recommended for this open air adventure.

Additional Information
Participation in the Hot Air Balloon Experience is limited to individuals weighing less than 220lbs and less than 6’5” tall.

Participants must be able to stand for a minimum of 90 minutes, should be at least 8 years of age and also a minimum of 4’ tall. Individuals who are pregnant, have broken bones or other physical conditions which are considered unsafe in racing conditions are not eligible to participate.

Participants are required to sign a Liability Release Form prior to flight.

Cancellation Policy
All changes to reservations for the Hudson Valley Hot Air Ballooning Experience require fourteen (14) days advance notice.

Xperience Certificates® cannot be exchanged once a reservation for the experience has been made.

Hot Air Ballooning Review

We started the day at the crack of dawn, around 6:30am. Watching the balloon get set up was in itself a lot of fun, and I had a huge grin on my face as soon as the balloon had been inflated. The takeoff was smooth, as indeed was the rest of the flight. I'd imagined that there would be a lot of buffetting and swaying, but really the ride is as smooth as a Rolls-Royce's. We flew about 12 miles and maxed out at 800 feet, which was high enough to offer a whole new perspective on the landscape. Yes, I've flown in an airplane many times, but flying in a balloon is totally different you're high enough to see a long way, but low and slow enough that you get to see loads of details we saw a whole herd of deer at one point. Landing was a lot of fun. We came in low over the treetops, even brushing them slightly, and then came down in a large field. It's a little rougher than landing in an airplane and we bounced a few times, but that really just added to the fun of the experience. And the icing on the cake? A nice breakfast consisting of champagne, cheese, nuts, crackers and grapes. A wonderful, unforgettable day, and very highly recommended. Oh, and we also learnt a lot from the friendly pilot, Vicky.

Hot Air Balloon Ride

We had a fantastic time on this chilly October morning. The views of the horse farms and mountains were spectacular. There wasn't a cloud in the sky and the sunrise was beautiful. This is a trip that will definately be repeated. We flew with Vicky at Wandering Winds. The knowledge and experience that she had made this trip truly pleasureable. We would recommend her to anyone. Thank you.

Balloon Ride

It was spectacular, felt like I was seeing everything so crisp and clear, like when we used the View Finder as a kid. Thought I could reach out and touch the trees. My husband enjoyed it just as much... Only one thing disappointing...our children purchased a 'SUNSET' or 'SUNRISE' experience for our 40th Anniversary up to us to decide. Well, we picked the Sunset however, we never got to see it. The ride started at 4:30 p.m. instead of the original start time they gave us of 5:30 p.m., therefore, we never got to see the sunset from the balloon (even missed it on the ground, by the time we got back). Our kids were a little annoyed and said we should have told someone. Well, telling you now... Other than that....IT WAS GREAT!!!
