Kayaking Tour

4 stars

My sister and I paid to go on the Boston BBQ Kayaking Tour, we went to the address that was provided to us, which is the same address that was given to me when I called on my way there. We ended up at the Sunset Kayaking Tour instead. They fit us into the tour since we were not able to make it across town to the right site. We did enjoy this tour, we were more looking forward to the BBQ tour but made the best of it. The Kayaking company has mailed me a gift certificate for the right tour at a future date.

Question: My girlfriend signed us up for this tour, but she's a much better kayaker than I am. I know this because I've never been before! Am I going to embarrass myself?

Answer: No, the Boston Kayak tour is designed for all levels and begins with a brief kayak lesson. That is all you need to get going. Plus this tour takes place in a tandem kayak so you can always sit in the back and let your girlfriend pull you around the river! Just remember to paddle when she turns around.

Question: I know parking on the streets of Boston can be difficult and most spots have 2 hour time limit. If I were to drive, are there any parking garages nearby?

Answer: The nearest garage is located on Kendall Street. Once you park exit the garage on Kendall Street and you'll see signs for Canoe and Kayak. You'll see the rental center on the left.

Question: My brother goes to Boston College and doesn't have a car. If I buy him and his girlfriend a certificate for the Boston Kayaking Tour for his birthday, can he take the T from his dorm?

Answer: He sure can! Tell him to take MBTA Red Line to Kendall. Walk through the lobby of the Marriott and exit onto Broadway and turn right. From there it's a left onto Third Street and then the first right onto Broad Canal Way. The rental center (where you meet for the tour) is located about 100 yards down the road. It's about a 5 to 10 minute walk from the T stop.

Question: My grandparents would like to take the kayaking tour in Boston on the Charles River. How how far is the tour and how strenuous is it?

Answer: The Boston Kayaking tour is roughly about 10 miles. The section of river that they will tour has almost no current so the paddling is not strenuous at all.
