My husband has always wanted to be a pilot, but never pursued it. I bought him this experience as an anniversary gift and we took the flight over the weekend. It was not in the plan for me to go with him, but for an additional $50 they let me sit in the back seat. I was glad to do it with him and see how excited he was. The plane is small so it was a little nerve-racking for me, but worth it.
- Lindsay - Long Island, Monday, April 15, 2013
This flight was everything I had hoped for. The skies cleared up and it was beautiful and moderately windy. The wind juggled the plane some but that was half the fun! :D I got to experience Negative G-forces that roller coasters can't compete with and got to take in an incredible view. 5/5 for the experience. The flight school loses a star due to an error in rescheduling. Originally I had my flight date changed to to heavy snow which is fine. Then they booked two people for the same time slot so I had my flight date changed again to a work day which was an inconvenience.

I had a great time, the instructor was great and took his time to explain everything, I could have chosen the flight direction, help with take off, control the plane in the air and had some input with landing, all around great feeling and time, would recomend to anyone :-)

'First Lesson' was an excellent experience. Flight instructor, Franck Budzynski, was very accomodating, friendly and professional. I have become convinced, as a result, that I want to obtain my private pilot license.

My flight lesson with the Academy of Aviation in Long Island was amazing. The entire staff was very helpful and even let me reschedule the day-of when my LIRR train was late. The pilot was friendly and knowledgeable. I will remember this for the rest of my life! I got to fly a plane! How many people can say that's what they did with their Saturday afternoon?
- Ashly Priest - Republic Airport, Wednesday, July 25, 2012
I had an amazing time during my Flight Lesson. The pilot was great at personalizing the flight lesson to fit my intentions. Was one of the best things I've done and I am looking forward to one day coming back for round 2!
- Alyssa - Long Island, Tuesday, June 19, 2012
It was a perfect day for the flight lesson, sunny, no clouds. The Academy of Aviation seemed well managed, nice receptionist, inviting functional rooms. The flight instructor in my case was Franck and he did an amazing job. I didn't expect much, I have never been crazy about flying and this lesson was a birthday gift. But I really had an awesome experience and would definitely recommend it. The location is perfect too. We flew above Jones Beach and the views from up there over the Long Island coast were unbelievable, and you could even see the Manhattan skyline far away.
- Armin - NY, Friday, May 25, 2012
I thought it was a wonderful and unique experience to learn from a pilot the procedures and preparation that is required before each flight. I would have liked to be actual up in the air for a longer period of time.
- Regina - Nanuet, NY, Saturday, May 12, 2012
I am now seriously considering going for my pilots license thanks to this experience.
- Paul Torre - Farmingdale NY, Wednesday, April 25, 2012
My wonderful wife knowing my love for aviation bought me flying lessons as a valentines day gift and I can't wait to take to the sky's. Is it wrong that after I take my first flight that I tell people to refer to me as captain Everett?
- Scott Everett - JFK, Wednesday, February 15, 2012
The most amazing birthday gift I got my entire life. It was a absolute thrill piloting a plane over the south shore of Long Island. I will for sure return for another flight. It was a perfect and clear day with a view for miles!!!! Next time I will do the extra time because it way too much fun for just a half hour!!!

Raymond Meaney was a great flight instructor, and I had one of the best experiences ever. It made me want to save money and take more lessons to acquire a private license.
- Oscar - Farmingdale, NY, Monday, August 29, 2011
Staff were very friendly and made me feel at ease, they asked my wife if she wanted to join me, despite the conditions stating that was not possible so she came up with us and that made the whole experience even better. 10/10
- Stuart Robertson - Greenwich, CT, Tuesday, August 09, 2011
The flight lesson was okay. Not really what I expected as we only took off and flew about 1100 feet in the air.
- Adalberto Diaz - Republic Airport, Wednesday, July 13, 2011
Absolutely unbelievable. I would do it again in a heartbeat.
- John - Farmingdale, Tuesday, July 12, 2011
The flight that I've got as a present for my birthday was amazing. I was controlling the plae most of the time. The pilot was a very nice Russian guy who shown me some tricks and made that experience fun. The time of the fligh was half an hour. Much longer than any helicopter tour. Over all it was a very cool present for birthday!
- Arie - New York, Wednesday, June 01, 2011

Fantastic experience. Flight instructor was superb and the entire experience was exhilarating and rewarding. The only negative was that we paid for additional time but it was not made clear how short that would be.
