Living in Buffalo we have grown accustomed to adverse weather. We have a saying which is 'if you don't like the weather here, then stick around it will change in five minutes'. Needless to say, my day to learn to fly a plane was doomed due to poor weather conditions. We call it zero - zero, or no visibility and no ceiling (ie, fog). The kind of day that would be better spent laying on the couch with my favorite book and a blanket. Fortunately the next couple of days the weather cleared. Early morning saw bright sunshine with a cool, clean and crisp and clear autumnal sky. The instructor was a young hot shot commercial pilot and certified flight instructor. The kind who reminded me of my youth, long ago. He was completely professional and curtious. We got along to the Cessna 172. We made the appropriate pre-flight checks and hopped in the four seater, single engine land airplane. After a couple of cranks the cold enging came to life. Taxing to position was straight forward. No flaps were needed for the take off roll. At full throttle with the propeller humming the airspeed came up and with a gentle pull on the stick we came off the ground and soon we were in the air. The conditions in the air were 'smooth as silk' , with no bumps. Visibility was unlimited. We could see the Toronto skyline. Banking the plane was so easy that I had no problem with the rudder and aileron coordination. When the time came to land the instructor guided me to final approach. I cut the throttle set the flaps and dragged her in. A few feet off the ground, I flared out and settled on the runway. What a fantastic experiance. I cannot over emphasize what pure excitement and joy that was on my face. Thank you so much for all of the fun!!!!!!!

Sorry - disappointing. No lesson on the ground, up in the air for 30 minutes, held foot controls for about 5 seconds. This was not what was advertised. Cost of flight vs. training not a good buy. VERY Disappointing!! Then they wanted to know if I would like to come back and train w/ them to get my flying license. I almost laughed, $1,900, after what I got for my fight lesson, I don’t think so……..

Fantastic experience, would definetly do it again. We flew over the lake shore then back ...taking the controls was a rush, the displays were neat (like a flight sim). The instructor was great.

This was awesome! I had Patrick as my flight instructor he really makes you feel comfortable in the pilot seat, and gave me a choice of where I wanted to go. I went over Darien Lake, really awesome. They used a new airplane, which had LCD monitors with GPS it was like flying a modern jet, and made reading the instruments easy, which in turn, easier to fly. It was the perfect gift to receive.
