A lot of the previous reviews nailed this on the head. It's nice to do something different but I would not take the cruise had I not received it as a gift. It's far too expensive for the brief and, in some cases, average aspects to this experience. The food falls into the average category...catering-hall quality (though the creme brule was a nice treat). The waitstaff was attentive to us but uninformed on prices (i.e., our server told us mixed drinks, which you need to purchase separately, were 8.00 and they were listed at 9.00 a piece on the bill). Gratuity is a suggested 15 percent but you can't tell what that number is based on since nothing is itemized on the bill save drinks. The server also awkwardly waits while you complete your tab. Definitely bring a jacket...it gets chilly on the top deck. The dance floor is a little small. Plan ahead if you want to boogie...by the time all courses were served you only had about 20 minutes of floor time. Good company can add a half-star to this so choose your shipmates carefully.

Based on the reviews already posted, my husband and I were very excited for this cruise. We went on a Saturday. When you get to the dock, just wait up top with all the fancy dressed people. A crewsman will come up to get everyone. As you board and check-in, you are handed a glass of champagne or cider. You are pre-assigned seats. You should know there are two levels. The upper level is where the dancing and music is. The lower level is a bit more intimate: less people but still can hear the music. You can request which level you'd prefer to sit on. The tables weren't as cramped as I expected. I guess it's based on how many people booked that day. The food was not as great as everyone is saying. It's very bland and tasteless. It tasted like a faux steak dinner at one of those late night diners. The staff in general was nice and attentative to everyone EXCEPT US. We had to keep reminding witresses that we ordered sodas, we haven't received dinner or dessert. We were always the last ones to receive our food, and both our plates were cold. There's a photographer on board who will insist that you take a picture. Keep in mind the pictures are NOT free they're $10 each. At the end of the cruise, you'll feel somewhat guilted in to buying when he brings it by your table despite your naivete. During the experience, the DJ did announce what each couple was celebrating and the whole ship claps and congratulates. Going out on deck, is very relaxing and soothing. The scenery is amazing. The ship only stays within the marina and just continues to circle for about 3 hours. At the end of the night, you may be lucky enough to see some drunk people yelling some strangely funny stuff. Overall, the cruise was OK, definitely a different experience. Just don't expect the best food. I hear the Friday night cruises are Jazz/Blues themed, and it's a buffet versus a sit down served dinner. Hopefully the food is better on that one. I do imagine that one would be more full because of it's popularity. Would I do it again? Definitely not on a Saturday, maybe a Friday. The highlight was standing on the deck feeling the breeze, watching the scenery, and standing in the arms of my husband.
Things to remember:
1) a sweater or light jacket. It does get chilly no matter how hot the day is.
2) bring your parking ticket so it can be validated on the ship. you get 2 hours free. also, the parking booth only takes cash.
3) the gratuity tip is prepaid if you book through xperience days about $25 for two.
4) your own camera to take as many pictures as you want for keepsakes.

The cruise was wonderful! The food was delicious, the music was awesome and the service was great! The views are beautiful too! The tables are arranged a little too close but that was fine. I would absolutley recommend this experience to others!

My boyfriend & I signed up for the Blues Cruise and it was Outstanding! The crew was very friendly, the food was perfect and the overall atmosphere was beautiful. The band was Rocking it was an amazing experience definitely something I would love to do again. The crowd was super friendly you would have thought we were all old time friends. They took our picture before we boarded the boat & it turned out great which was a nice souvenier to have! Everything about the dinner cruise was Amazing! I would recommend this experience to everyone!

Overall, it was a wonderful, amazing experience. I arranged this event for my boyfriend to celebrate his birthday and our anniversary. The ship we were on was the Wild Goose and it's really pretty inside. Doing a little tour around the boat was fun and the cocktails were really good! And, most importantly the dinner was very delicious. I thought the three hours were too short for the whole night. Just wished it was longer... overall it was great. It is a wonderful experience for a different and unique date!!!

Everything was great, we had a very nice evening. We especially enjoyed a drunk passenger that started singing out loud. I would definately recommend it.

My experience started with my reservation. I was not anywhere on the guest list despite having a confirmed reservation. The dinner was great and the service very accomodating. The music wasn't to my liking, it went from romantic to only hip-hop so instead of a romantic evening I started to feel like we were in a club. Due to fog we get to only see the same 7 buildings, no LA. I think if you are looking to have a fun Friday or Saturday night this might be the ticket but if you celebrating a special evening it may not live up to the expectations.

My girlfriend and I loved it....
We were concern about how tables were arranged so tightly, and conversation seem not to be so private.....Other than this, food was great, service was great....

We had a lovely evening aboard the Wild Goose, a beautiful yacht that belonged to John Wayne.

The food was delicious!!! This was our first time dinning in the boat and it was not as expected as I thought. First, we couldn't hear any announcement or instruction that the Captain made. Second, it makes no difference going to a regular restaurant due to dress code and service. Third, we need to call every time in order to get the service. Over all, it was not as professional and pleasant atmosphere as it stated in the website.

Dinner was very good. The rest of it was too fast. We could not enjoy the music because the speakers were not working on top floor. The boat just turned in circles rather than cruising the whole harbor. Way too expensive for the 2 hrs. will not reccommend to anyone!!!

The food, the service were great!!!but, they really need to be very clear about the dress code!!!!! It's not very romantic when you get all dressed up for a special night and you have to sit by a group of people wearing sweats and jeans and baseball caps!!!!!

I had an accident of spilling the champane on my wife while being seated on a table where everytime I stood up from my chair I have to tell the lady behind to exuse me because of the little space I was given in such a huge size ship, and for that afterward I was treated like no one wanted to offer me any more service, our expectation was more than your best if that was your best to give,I will just call it a lack of experience.

My girlfriend and I had a very special time aboard the cruise. The route was excellent as we saw parts of LA that we didn't know about and from a unique angle in the bay, the staff attentive and friendly and the atmosphere was very romantic. The music could have been more in tune with the evening but overall I would highly recommend this experience to others.

The Dinner Cruise atmosphere with the staff, music, food, and the ocean was very pleasing for my guest and I. We hope to, some day, recapture this extra-ordinary experience.
