During a three-hour introduction to Motorcycle Riding, this hands-on beginner Motorcycle Lesson is designed to give the pure novice a taste of what motorcycle riding is all about.

The excitement begins when you meet with your Certified and Licensed Instructor at the learning center. Here you will work one-on-one with them, learning the skills and confidence to get on a bike and ride. Lessons taught including the proper mount and dismount of the motorcycle, a complete overview of all of the hand and foot controls, effectively practicing the clutch - friction point of engagement, efficiently shifting gears, learning to properly brake and more!

This Introduction to Riding a Motorcycle is the perfect opportunity to learn the basics and see what all of the fun is about. Plus, it makes the perfect unique gift for anyone who has always wanted to learn to ride a motorcycle!

The Motorcycle Riding Lessons are offered Wednesday thru Sunday year-round, subject to availability. Lessons take place at 10:00 AM and 1:30 PM.

The Motorcycle Lessons include a 2 hour training session and has a total duration of approximately 2¼ hours.

Weather Weather
The Bay Area Motorcycle Riding Lessons may be rescheduled by the Instructor due to heavy rain or other inclement weather.

What to wear What to wear
Comfortable clothing. Participants must wear boots or over the ankle shoes, a jacket or long sleeve shirt. You will be provided with a helmet and gloves.

Additional Information Additional Information
Participants may use their own bike or have a bike (Honda Nighthawk 250cc) provided. There is a $200 equipment deposit required on the day of the reservation for any participants which use the instructors equipment.

Participation is limited to individuals who are at least 5' tall and 18 years of age. Individuals who are pregnant, have broken bones or other physical conditions which are considered unsafe are not eligible to participate.

Participants are required to sign a Liability Release Form and must have a valid Auto Drivers License.

Question: Does this motorcycle lesson in San Francisco include riding the motorcycle, or is it just an instructional class without actually riding?

Answer: The San Francisco Motorcycle Riding Lesson is an introductory lesson that allows the participant to progress at the pace of a student. Meaning, they will work on one skill at a time until the rider feels comfortable moving on. You will learn the skills and gain the confidence to get on a bike and ride. Included in the lesson is the proper way tomount and dismount the motorcycle, learning all of the hand and foot controls, effectively braking, practicing the clutch/friction point of engagement, efficiently shifting gears and more! While there will be riding during the lesson, it will be focused on instruction.

Question: Will we be riding our bikes on the streets of San Francisco? Do I need to get my license before I take the class?

Answer: No, the San Francisco Motorcycle Riding Class is a beginner lesson that takes place in a parking lot. A motorcycle license is not required, however an automobile license is.

Question: I just bought a motorcycle but don't have my motorcycle license yet. How do I get my new bike to the lesson?

Answer: The bay area motorcycle school has options to transport your bike to the lesson. After you've made your reservation through Experience Days, you will receive a confirmation with the school's contact information. You must call ahead to schedule transportation for your motorcycle to the lesson.

Question: My girlfriend wants to buy a motorcycle, but I think she should take a lesson first to see if she likes it. Can she participate in the Bay Area motorcycle lesson if she doesn't own a bike?

Answer: Yes! The San Francisco Motorcycle Riding Lesson includes motorcycle, helmet and gloves. A deposit is required and is returned if nothing is damaged.
