Spend a beautiful day in the Nantahala Gorge and the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad. You'll begin your trip in Bryson City, NC at the train depot, with a 2 hour railroad excursion over Fontana Lake and into the Nantahala Gorge. As you travel on the train, watch paddlers challenge the rapids on the Nantahala River.

At the top-of-the-line you and your guest will disembark from the train and climb aboard a customized Jeep for a personal exploration up the mountain, past waterfalls and lakes, up to the Appalachian Trail and back down along Winding Stairs Rd, an old stagecoach route. At the end of your outdoor adventure, you will be shuttled you to the Center where transportation back to the train depot in Bryson City and back to your car is provided.

Who
The Nantahala Rail N' Jeep Tour Combo Xperience Certificate® is for two participants. There will be additional passengers on the train and up to five passengers in the Jeep.

Guests
This experience is not suitable for non-paying guests.

When
The Nantahala Rail N' Jeep Tour Combo Experience is offered seven days a week March thru November, subject to availability.

Duration
The Nantahala Rail N' Jeep Tour Combo Experience includes a 2 hour train ride, plus the Jeep and Walking Tour and is approximately 7 to 7½ hours in total duration.

Weather
The Nantahala Rail N' Jeep Tour Combo Experience may be cancelled by the Guide due to high winds, heavy rain, fog or other inclement weather.

What to wear
Comfortable attire, jackets, hats, sunglasses and flat, rubber-soled shoes are recommended for this experience.

Additional Information
You will travel in a Jeep Wrangler converted vehicle, with an extended rear to accommodate 5 passengers with a clear plexiglass canopy over the roof. Participants are advised to bring: jacket, hat, sunglasses, binoculars, camera, and wear comfortable shoes for walking and weather appropriate clothing. A rain poncho, water and snack will be provided. Insect repellent, a first aid kit and a small cooler along with interpretive books with maps and plant ID pictures will be carried by the Guide. Individuals who are pregnant, have broken bones or other physical conditions which are considered by the Guide to be unsafe conditions are not eligible to participate.

Minimum Age: 6 years and 40lbs
Intensity Level: Mild to moderate, but not strenuous.

Guide Gratuities are not included and can be extended following your adventure. Participants are required to sign a Liability Release Form.

Lunch is included.

Cancellation Policy
All changes to reservations for the Nantahala Rail N' Jeep Tour Combo Experience require fourteen (14) days advance notice. Changes to reservations are subject to a $40.00 administrative fee.

Xperience Certificates® cannot be exchanged once a reservation for the experience has been made.
