Dress comfortably, flat rubber-soled shoes and layers are recommended for this culinary adventure. Flip-flops, high heels and dress-shoes are not recommended.

All tastings are included. The tasting samples listed are a general guide, but are subject to change from tour to tour. Unfortunately, due to the nature of the experience no substitutions can be made. Beverages and cocktails are not provided but are available for purchase during the tour.

This is a walking tour, therefore participants must be able to walk over mile.

Gratuities are not included but are greatly appreciated and may be offered at the end of the event.

Great, well-rounded tour

If you want to learn about NOLA, eat food you wouldn't typically try, get to sample some great local drinks, see historic restaurants that shape the city, and get a little exercise while doing so, this is the tour for you! We had such a blast, met some great people, and ate some really awesome food! Thank you!

Wonderful Time On Our Tour

My wife and I had been looking forward to the tour for quite some time. It did not disappoint. The establishments we toured were all first rate and the food excellent. They might consider making the sample portion sizes a bit larger but that is a minor gripe. The history presented by our tour guide was fascinating. Mary was very personable and obviously enjoys leading the tours. She had a great sense of humor coupled with an in depth knowledge of the city and the restaurants we visited. She was a real gem and we would take another tour with her in a second. The only issue we had, which was not really all that bad, was the number of people in our tour group. Our understanding was that there would be no more than 12 but our group had 16. Not a problem, just made for tight quarters and scrambling for chairs at a couple of sites. We definitely recommend this tour to everyone interested in great food and rich history.

It's not just the food! Starting at one of the oldest and most exquisite establishments in the French Quarter (Antoine's), our guide (Sally) was extremely well versed in the history of the establishments we visited and passed by. A few even had secret back rooms loaded with interesting items and exciting stories and rumors about the old and current elite of this bustling town. Fortunately our tour ended up before dark when Boubon Street makes its transformation (read: not for under 21 or the squeamish!). While it is highly unlikely I would repeat this tour it is highly recommended for first time visitors.

Question: I purchased this tour for the surprise trip I am taking my girlfriend on to New Orleans. How much food is served on this tour? Should we have lunch before?

Answer: There are 7 stops along the way. For most people this constitutes a full meal. You won't need to have lunch before or after.
Question: Are beverages provided?

Answer: No, but they are available for purchase at the stops. Water is available at all of the stops.
Question: Can they accommodate dietary restrictions like vegetarians or food allergies?

Answer: Substitutions cannot be guaranteed. If you have shellfish allergies this tour is not recommended.
Question: I am thinking of gifting my grandparents the New Orleans Food tour for their anniversary. Is the tour strenuous? How much walking is involved?

Answer: The tour is 3 hours long but most of the time you'll be standing or sitting and eating. The entire tour covers about 4 square blocks.
Question: What if it rains on the day of our tour?

Answer: Bring and umbrella. Tours run rain or shine. In cases of extreme weather the tour will be rescheduled directly with the tour company.
Question: Is the New Orleans Culinary Tour wheelchair accessible?

Answer: It is not recommended for wheelchairs. The terrain is uneven and some of the stops require negotiating narrow stairs.
