Learn how to surf during a private Surf Lesson one of Wilmington's beautiful beaches! This Private North Carolina Surf Lesson is best way to hit the beach and discover this exciting sport. If you've ever tried to surf, you know how frustrating it can be - the wipeouts, the nose-dives and the endless paddling. Without the proper instruction, learning on your own can seem like an impossible task.

During this private surfing lesson you will receive one-on-one instruction on the beach and in the water, ensuring your safety and optimal learning curve. Your surf lesson will begin on the beach with a 45 minute ground school during which your Certified Instructor will teach you the techniques you need to be successful in the water. Once you are ready, you and your Instructor will hit the water for over an hour of in-the-water instruction and surfing!

Who
The North Carolina Surfing Lesson Xperience Certificate® is for one participant. This is a private lesson.

You may invite guests to watch your North Carolina Surfing Lesson.

When
The North Carolina Surfing Lesson Experience is offered seven days a week May thru October, subject to availability. Lessons are typically scheduled between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM.

Duration
The North Carolina Surfing Lesson Experience includes 45 minutes of instruction on the beach 1¼ hours of instruction in the water with a total of lesson lenght of 2 hours.

Weather
The North Carolina Surfing Lesson may be cancelled by the Instructor due to severe weather such as high winds or heavy rain.

What to wear
Dress comfortably, swimwear and layers. Beach towels, sunscreen and a change of clothes are also recommended. Participants will be provided with all necessary equipment.

Additional Information
Wetsuits, rash-guards and surfboards are all provided for the lesson. If you have your own surfboard or other equipment, you are welcome to use it.

Participants must be over the age of 5, must be able to swim with their head above water and must be able to swim to shore. Younger participants and weak swimmers will be kept in shallow waters. Participants are advised to be well rested and should avoid drinking alcohol the evening prior to their lesson. All Instructors are experienced surfers and have been surfing for over 10 years. They are all certified in CPR and First Aid, and some are also ocean lifeguards. Instructors are with the students at all times.

Individuals who are pregnant, have broken bones or other physical conditions which are considered unsafe are not eligible to participate.

Participants are required to sign a Liability Release Form. Participants under the age of 18 require written consent by a parent or legal guardian on the day of the lesson.

Cancellation Policy
All changes to reservations for the North Carolina Surfing Lesson Experience require seven (7) days advance notice.

Xperience Certificates® cannot be exchanged once a reservation for the experience has been made.
