All aboard for a Scenic Train Ride through the beautiful Mount Washington Valley! You and your guest will relive the Golden Days of Railroading as you travel aboard the elegant Dining Car "Chocorua”, on Northern Conway’s scenic railroad. Built in 1929 for service as a coach on the Delaware, Lackawanna & Western Railroad, "Car 2570" was remodeled and put into service in 1992. Surrounded by 780,000 acres of White Mountain National Forest, this delicious lunch on the “Chocorua” dining car offers spectacular views of New Hampshire’s beautiful scenery as you travel round-trip from North Conway to Bartlett, New Hampshire. So, sit back and enjoy the passing scenery and surrounding mountains, as the "Valley Train" travels northwest through fields and woodlands, crossing the East Branch, Saco, and Ellis Rivers enroute to Bartlett. Upon arrival in Bartlett, you will also have the opportunity to watch the locomotive "run around" for the return trip to North Conway. For lunch, you will enjoy a delicious meal prepared by Crawford's Restaurant. Lunch includes an appetizer, a variety of entrée selections and dessert served to you with warm, friendly Yankee hospitality. This delicious lunch on a train is the perfect way to spend time together while enjoying this historic and romantic method of travel and beautiful New Hampshire scenery.
Tables are designed for seating with other guests, reminiscent of turn of the century rail travel.

Review of Conway Scenic Train
Fantastic! The dining car was elegant and air conditioned. The food was exceptional, supplied by a local gormet restaurant and prepared fresh to order on board. A delightful outing!

Great Ride
My wife, toddler and I took the train ride in the late fall and it was indeed scenic. The dining car was charming and old-timey and my 2-year-old loved loved loved the ride. Every employee we encountered was friendly and helpful folks in the gift shop, ticket booth, dining car, and the engineer. The bad: food. The sandwiches and wraps were pre-made (no surprise) and still cold when they were served. The potato salad was full of potatoes that were not fully cooked. The crudité plate was composed of three cubes of grocery store cheese and four veggie sticks. Pathetic. I understand that there is only so much that one can prepare on a train, but there was a full kitchen in the dining car! I expected much more. Even humble food can be tasty, and this was not.

Overall I was disappointed. I guess we expected to see more of the area. The ride was short- out and back on the same track. The food was godd the conversation was friendly.

Answer: The North Conway Scenic Lunch Train for Two departs from and returns to New Hampshire, North Conway. This experience is offered seven days a week, mid-June thru mid-October, subject to availability. Trips typically board at 11:00 AM, depart at 11:30 AM and return at approximately 1:30 PM.
