Make a ceramic work of art during this Private Pottery Class. Taught by local ceramic artists, you will learn through one-on-one instruction the skills you need to create your very own masterpiece!

During this Connecticut Pottery Lesson, you will learn to work with clay either on the potter's wheel or during a hand-building and sculpting class. If you choose the pottery wheel lesson, you will learn the basics of how to center, cone, pull, shape and decorate clay. If select the hand-building and sculpting option, you will learn clay construction using the slab technique, shaping and texturing. After you've transformed the wet clay into a work of art using any of the techniques you learn, you will then select a color of glaze to be applied. Next, your piece will be properly dried and then fired in the kiln in order to preserve your work.
