Watch the Manhattan Skyline drift by as you step aboard the beautiful Schooner Adirondack or Adirondack III; 80-foot wooden replicas of a classic turn of the century Pilot Schooner. Departing from Chelsea Piers on the Hudson River, this beautiful two hour sail in New York Harbor will treat you and your guest to a sightseeing adventure. The boat will head south down the Hudson River to Battery Park providing you with amazing views of Manhattan along the way. During your sail, you will pass by Ellis Island as you make your way to the Statue of Liberty. Wind and time permitting, you will also sail towards Governors Island and breeze by the Financial District as the Schooner teases her bow under the Brooklyn Bridge on the East River before heading back up the Hudson River. Whether you are a native New Yorker, or this is your first visit to the Big Apple, this sightseeing sail on the Hudson River is one of the best things to do in New York and makes an excellent gift for any occasion.
Complimentary beer, soda, and water will be provided on day sails. Wine and champagne will be available for purchase. Several rounds of drinks will be served, but this is not an unlimited booze-cruise. The aim is to create an elegant, relaxing, peaceful, and safe experience for all guests. Food is not served during the sail, but passengers are welcome to bring snacks onboard. Gratuity for the Captain & Crew is not included.

We picked the worst day to be out there cold and rainy! The trip was delayed 20 minutes which worked out pretty well because the rain stopped but it was still cold and wet. However I commend the crew for making the best of a bad situation and once we all had our blankets on and were out in the water with our drinks all was forgotten and the weather warmed up. So overall it was a good experience.

Schooner Experience
I have to say I had images of it being choppy out there and that I would be thrown about within the yacht, however, I could not be more wrong. Once they turned off the engine and set up the sails it was plain sailing from that point on. I found this to be very relaxing and watching the sun set over the Hudson river was just beautiful. As a budding photographer I had ample amount of opportunities to get snap happy. I would highly recommend this to anyone as it was a highlight of my holiday as it exceeded all expectations.

I suggest that the sail boat go out as far as Verrazono Bridge rather than duplicating the same area in circles. Alternatively go up the Hudson beyond 34th Street. Also, in addition to complimentary beer and soda, offer wine as well.

Would be better as a sunset sail like we did the previous year - also the previous year wine and champaign were included and this year crappy canned beer that was undrinkable as it tasted like it was chilled and then heated several times and the brand was awful for the money the trip cost.

Schooner Sailing NY Harbor
The America 2 which was supposed to be the ship we were scheduled for was grounded due to low tide. We were moved over to the Adirondack which left 30 min later. The ride with the new Capt and crew wqas exceptional. Very cordial, polite and attentive to everyone's needs. Very nice and I would recommend to anyone. Had a very good experience.

New York Sailing
To begin with, when we arrived they did not have our names listed although we had made the reservation weeks earlier and had our confirmation with us. They did get us on the next schooner but with no apology for the error. Beer and wine were offered. I gave the guy $10 for a $5 glass of wine and he never returned with the change. Finally except for a short safety speech when we began, for the entire 2 hours the crew said nothing. Very unfriendly.

Schooner Sail NYC
Three things stood out in this experience: 1. the sail, the captain, and the crew were wonderful 2. the woman who checked me in and gave me the boarding pass was such a help. The other person scheduled for this sail was sick on the day and unable to come. This woman said she would take care of that so that the sick person could come back and take her sail at a later time. That really made the entire experience for me since illness was not under any of our control. 3. the overhead helicopters are a real noise pollution. The winds were great, the sail was wonderful but you could not enjoy the quiet of a sailboat because of the helicopters. I know you have NO control over this but ... you asked. Thank you.

Sunset Schooner Sailing
My husband and I joined our friends for a lovely sunset sail on the Hudson and were very pleased with the captain and the crew. The sail was very beautiful and relaxing and the crew made a point of making sure everyone was satified and had a great time. When the sails were hoisted and the engine turned off - it was one of the most peaceful moments anyone could experience. We would love to do it again! Highly recommended and a great value!

The Schooner trip was remarkable. The crew and Captain were welcoming and inviting. Above all they loved what they do. I recommend everyone see the city from the Hudson. Not Much and Not Sailing
Pros: Crew was nice and went out of their way for us. Cons: Very limited sights - should have went under the Brooklyn bridge at least. Sailing uses sails - and while this was done, the boat was under engine power 75% of the time. If you've never seen NY before it's good. But for those of us who live close, it's a waste of time.

Sailing - Adirondack
Being a New Yorker (born in Manhattan) I am almost naturally suspicious of everything and everyone. It seems like most things are a scam and everyone is just trying to get your money. However, I couldn't be more pleased with my experience sailing on the Adirondack. Not only was the crew and Captain extremely professional as well as friendly, but those 2 hours became like a second honeymoon for us. With busy lifestyles, heavy work schedules, kids, pets, mortgage, etc... it seems like we never get a chance just to be together without something being on our minds or the phone ringing. We fell in love with each other all over again. It was like the very best first date a couple could ever have. Thank you so much for offering this beautiful experience!

Great Outing!
I gave this Xperience to my husband as a Christmas gift, and we decided to use it on a very hot day. It was the absolute best place to be. The boat was beautiful and comfortable, the crew was friendly and attentive, our ship mates were really nice, the captain was lovely and allowed my husband to pilot the boat for a good long time.
