Your Sonoma Wine Country Segway tour begins with a brief fifteen minute introduction safety overview of the segway. Once acclimated to this modern marvel, you will be on your way to see the beautiful sights that historic Sonoma has to offer, with plenty of great photo opportunities as you glide along.

During this three hour guided tour, you will enjoy seven to nine miles of beautiful Sonoma Wine Country. As you ride along, you will visit at least one local winery either Buena Vista, Gundlach Bundschu, or Ravenwood. Then you will make a stop at one of Sonoma’s best kept secrets, the Vella Cheese Factory, you will stop at the General Vallejo’s Historic home, and more!

Explore the heart of California’s famed wine country and enjoy a complementary bottle of Sonoma Valley wine at the end of this narrated glide through historic Sonoma making this the perfect experience!

The Sonoma Segway Tour is offered Mondays and Wednesdays year-round, subject to availability. Tours begin at 10:00 AM.

How Long Is It

The Sonoma Segway Tour Adventures include a brief training session in an open space, a 3 hour tour and a total duration of approximately 3½ hours.

Weather

The Segway Tour of Sonoma may be rescheduled by the Guide due to high winds, heavy rain, fog or other inclement weather.

What To Wear

Dress comfortably, flat, closed-toe shoes and layers are recommended for this segway adventure.

Additional Information

Segway tours are suitable for participants over 14 years of age, between 100lbs and 225lbs that are able to stand for a period of 3 hours. Participants under 18 years old must be accompanied by parent or guardian.

Helmets are provided and must be worn at all times. Segways have storage baskets that can fit a small purse or 2-3 bottles of wine.

A Picnic Lunch is provided at a winery midway through the tour. Lunches are made daily for us and include local products whenever possible.

Wine tastings fees are not included but are available to participants 21 years of age or older at each winery for an additional cost. Tasting Fees can range from $15-$20 per person and include 5-7 tastings.

Participants are required to sign a Liability Release Form.

Sonoma Segway Tour

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our time with Hunt, our Sonoma Segway tour guide. We got to visit two great wineries and a cheese factory, and enjoyed a great picnic lunch midway through our tour. Hunt was a very knowledgeable, patient, and accommodating guide. He catered our tour to our interests and let us take the time to explore the areas we enjoyed most. I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting the Sonoma area!

The instruction for using the Segway was great (I was operating mine pretty effectively within 10 minutes) and this was the most fun tour I've ever been on! The tour guide is knowledgeable and down to Earth.

Question: I'd like to surprise my boyfriend with this tour, but i think he is close to the weight limit. Are they really strict about it?

Answer: Yes, having a weight over the limit will effect not only the speed of the Segway but the battery life as well. Participants must be within the weight limits.
Question: Does the price include all of our wine tastings?

Answer: The price includes the tour and lunch. Tastings are not included in the price and typically range from $15-$20 with 5-7 tastings. Vouchers for discounts and 2 for 1 tastings are handed out when available.
Question: We were given this tour as a retirement gift, but we have never been on a segway or anything of the like. Do we need to know how to ride a segway to take the tour?

Answer: At the beginning of the tour you'll get a quick lesson on how to ride a segway. Most people pick it up in about 5 to 10 minutes.
Question: My husband and I love trying new wines. Will we be able to purchase bottles of wine on the tour?

Answer: Yes. Your Segway will have storage for 2-3 bottles of wine. If you'd like to purchase more you may arrange to have it shipped to your house.
