Experience a memorable two-hour Sunset Sail on a living piece of yachting history— the streamlined America's Cup racing yacht the Stars and Stripes. Set sail out of Hilton Head Island and enjoy this amazing scenic sail.

The well funded Sail America Foundation commissioned four 12 metre yachts to support a campaign lead by Dennis Conner, representing the San Diego Yacht Club, to win back the America's Cup in the 1987 competition in Fremantle, Australia. This racing machine features an 85-foot-tall mast. She is solid, fast and features two steering wheels and a wide cockpit where you and your guest along with four other passengers and the crew will control her speed and high performance. Throughout this South Carolina Sailing Adventure, your Captain and crew guide you as you help trim the sheets and grind the winches!

Who
The Stars and Stripes Sailing In Hilton Head Xperience Certificate® is for two participants. There will be approximately four additional participants on the sail.

Guests
This experience is not suitable for non-paying guests.

When
The Stars and Stripes Sailing In Hilton Head Experience is offered Tuesday thru Saturday evenings, subject to availability. Sails typically board at 6:30, depart at 7:00 PM and return at 9:00 PM

Duration
The Stars and Stripes Sailing In Hilton Head Experience has a sail time of approximately 2 hours and a total duration of approximately 2½ hours.

Weather
The Stars and Stripes Sailing In Hilton Head Experience may be cancelled by the Captain due to high winds, heavy rain, fog or other inclement weather.

What to wear
Dress comfortably, flat, non-marking rubber-soled shoes and layers are recommended for this sailing adventure.

Additional Information
Sails take place on the Stars and Stripes. This vessel is skippered by a USCG-licensed Captain and their crew. The 12-metre class is a group of sailing vessels were are all designed to a particular formula, so as to make the boats involved in a competition roughly comparable, while still giving individuals the freedom to experiment with the details of their designs. The first 12-metres were built in 1907 and the last in 1987.

Participation in the experience is limited to individuals 10 years of age or older. Individuals who are pregnant, have broken bones or other physical conditions which are considered unsafe conditions are not eligible to participate.

While motion sickness is possible, it is unlikely and can be reduced by avoiding heavy meal(s) prior to the scheduled sail. Participants are required to sign a Liability Release Form.

Cancellation Policy
All changes to reservations for the Stars and Stripes Sailing In Hilton Head Experience require fourteen (14) days advance notice.

Xperience Certificates® cannot be exchanged once a reservation for the experience has been made.
