Step aboard the Spirit of Washington for an afternoon of fun and excitement! This experience gift is your chance to enjoy a two hour cruise on the Potomac River, right in the heart of the Nation’s Capital!

The fun begins when you and your guest board the ship at Pier 6 and Water Streets. Here you will be greeted by the friendly Captain and Crew. Once on board, you will be escorted to your table. You may then order a beverage from your Server or take the opportunity to explore the ship. Once the boat is underway, you will be invited to the Lunch Buffet where you may enjoy as much as you’d like. From fresh crisp salads to savory mains and side dishes, there is something on the menu to suit everyone's tastes!

Throughout the Lunch Cruise you will also enjoy a narrated tour of the points of interest seen from the boat’s huge panoramic windows. Highlights include Old Town Alexandria, Jones Point Lighthouse, the Washington Monument and more! Awesome Experience!

My husband and I had a great experience! The food was delicious and they had no problem with making me a vegan plate (let them know ahead of time). The DJ and our waiter Wayne were awesome too. Of course we loved the views along the way too. The lunch cruise was very great for families and there were games like jinga on the top deck. Would definitely do it again.

We enjoyed the cruise. The food was okay. The salmon was a little dry. We had difficulty listening to the person speaking during the tour in the dining room. We would have liked to hear better about the sites that we were passing. Going to the top deck and getting a great view all around the ship was really nice and one of our favorite parts of the cruise were all the planes that were flying above us toward the airport.

The lunch cruise wasn't at all what I expected, the music was loud, the windows were a bit dirty, there were bosquitos inside the boat, our server didn't bring us the water until the end of our meal...etc. Very unhappy with my experience unfortunately I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Question: Does the ship have wheelchair access?

Answer: Yes. Spirit has a deck and restrooms that can accommodate most standard-sized wheelchairs. Be sure to let us know if you have a person in your party that uses a wheelchair so they can be seated on the main deck. You can make notes in the comments field under your date selection.
Question: What are the boarding procedures like?

Answer: You will be subject to a search. In order to expedite the boarding process they ask that you do not bring any unnecessary bags on board and please make sure that all gifts are in gift bags or unwrapped for easy screening.
Question: I would like to surprise my girlfriend with this Cruise for our anniversary. Will we have to share a table?

Answer: With tables for two, four, six and eight the crew will do their best to seat you at your own table, but it is not guaranteed. Especially if the Cruise is near or at maximum capacity.
Question: My wife and I have reservations for the Cruise this weekend, but there is rain in the forecast. Will the Cruise be cancelled for poor weather?

Answer: The ship is fully enclosed and climate-controlled for your comfort. They sail rain or shine all year long. In the rare case of extreme weather, the ship will be held dockside.
Question: I'd like to purchase the Potomac River Lunch Cruise for our anniversary but my wife's gluten-free. Will they be able to accommodate her?

Answer: While they offer gluten and allergy free products and gluten sensitive menu items, the galley openly handles flour. Precautions are taken to keep ingredients separate but they cannot guarantee a gluten free environment. There is not separate prep surfaces, cook tops or equipment.
