Review

4 stars

While we enjoyed the class, it was a little too hot and the class lasted more than 3 hours. The people at the winery were great, knowledgeable, fun and the food/wine was good as well. I will say that I would probably not book through your company again based on the 'rules' that turned out not to be correct information. Your emails all indicated no jeans, no sandals for men, business attire, had to be there 10 min early, bring all the paper work, etc. The winery employees were all wearing jeans as well as some of the guests attending the class. We did not need all the paper work and we arrived a few minutes late due to traffic and the winery was fine with us being a few minutes late.

Wine Appreciation Class

My wife and I really enjoyed the class and the wine maker (George) was incredibly knowledgeable. Although the class was long (about 4.5 hours), George made it fun and interesting, covering all aspects of Viticulture and Oenology as well as the history and geology of the region. The food at Falkner was excellent and the wines we tasted were really good, especially for Temecula (I recommend the '07 Syrah). I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys wine and learning about the process. We would do it again!

Temecula Wine Appreciation Class

4 stars

The class was very well structured. George, the vintner, was extremely knowledgable and paced the class well. He covered not only the wines themselves but also the geography, topography and climatology of grape growing. The class moved indoors for lunch and tastings. We learned that wine is more about smell and visual stimuli than taste. The lunch provided was excellent and the wine tasting was informative. There was no hard sell to buy wine and the whole experience took about 4 hours. I would recommend this to anyone who really wants to learn to appreciate wine and the process of wine making. This is not a class for someone interested in getting plastered and moving on to the next vineyard. This is a serious class taught by a man who has tremendous passion for his livelihood.

Wine class

Very much enjoy the wine appreciation class. It was informative and interesting. George was passionate about his knowledge and very humorous. The food was delicious and the wine superb. The only set back would be how cold the wine room was at lunch. If we knew, we would have been adequately prepared. Thanks again.

Wine Appreciation Class

My husband and I received this experience as a gift from our son. We thoroughly enjoyed it and learned so much. The only downside was that it started late and went longer than expected. This would not have been too much of a problem if we hadn't had plans afterwards. Regardless, its important to start on time.

My bf and I attended the class and George was our guide. The class was extremely informative and fun. The group was small and private. The lunch was really tasty especially the Lobster Mac'n Cheese. Wine tastings were discussed w/ appetizers. Overall, a one of a kind experience.

Question: We received the Wine Appreciation Class in Temecula as a wedding present. I have to admit I'm more of a beer drinker and don't know a lot about wines. Who takes these classes? Will I be intimidated if I don't know wine-speak?

Answer: You won't feel intimidated and this is the perfect class for you. The class covers everything you need to know, from making the wine to food pairing. And while the class is enjoyed by wine connoisseurs, it was designed to be fun for everyone.

Question: How much wine is served?

Answer: Not a lot. This is not a wine tasting but a wine class. You will sample wines in the different stages of fermentation so you can get a better idea of how the process works, and maybe some examples of the different finishes, but you will not be sampling all of the wines offered by the winery.

Question: Is food served during the class?

Answer: No, but you may add lunch to your Experience Certificate by choosing the option from the drop down above the 'Add to Cart' button. If you are not sure, all participants will also be offered a 10% off coupon for Pinnacle Restaurant located at the winery.

Question: How far in advance should I book?

Answer: Experience Days requires a minimum of 14 days advance notice for all bookings. However the Wine Appreciation Classes in Temecula are only held once a month and the class size is limited, so we recommend reserving at least a month in advance.
