Experience the sport of Rowing on Lake Sammamish with acclaimed coaches, who have national recognition.  The perfect activity gift for anyone looking for new ways to enjoy the water, this exciting three hour intro to Rowing Course is perfect for anyone who loves trying to new outdoor activities on or off of the water.

The fun begins at the boathouse in Marymoor Park with one-on-one land instruction. Here you will learn proper rowing technique on an ergometer. After the land instruction is complete, the Instructor will then move you on to the water where you will learn the basic sculling stroke in boats of one, two or four people.  After a short time, you will discover the beauty behind the stroke, how to properly set a boat, proper oar handling, good rowing technique and more!

This Seattle Rowing Lesson is a great chance to see what the sport is all about! So whether you are looking to begin a new hobby or have simply always wanted to try Rowing, this unique gift experience is the ticket!

Who Is Included hide

The Lake Sammamish Intro to Rowing Xperience Certificate® is for one participant. You will be joined by additional participants during the lesson.

This experience is not suitable for non-paying guests.

When It Is Offered hide

The Sammamish Rowing Lessons are offered on select dates March thru July, subject to availability.

How Long Is It hide

The Rowing Course is typically 3 hours in duration.

Weather hide

The Seattle Rowing Class may be rescheduled by the Instructor due to poor weather conditions.

What To Wear hide

Dress comfortably in swimwear. Sun glasses and sunscreen as well as a change of clothing and a beach towel are all recommended.

Additional Information hide

Lessons are provided by the Sammamish Rowing Association, a community rowing program, dedicated to providing the broadest possible access to rowing located on beautiful Lake Sammamish; with a boathouse in Marymoor Park. SRA is one of the largest rowing organizations in the Pacific Northwest, and offers a fun, friendly, positive, encouraging atmosphere for rowers of all ages and levels.

Participants must be at least 18 years of age and be able to swim. Lifejackets are provided and must be worn at all times. Individuals who are pregnant, have broken bones or other physical conditions which are considered unsafe conditions are not eligible to participate. All participants must sign a liability waiver prior to participation.

Gratuities are not included but are greatly appreciated and may be offered at the end of the event.


Reservation Information hide

All changes to reservations for the Lake Sammamish Intro to Rowing require seven (7) days advance notice.

Xperience Certificates® cannot be exchanged once a reservation for the experience has been made.
