This was a gift for my fiance and I and we did not know really what to expect or prepare for. Karen Lee's class was a fun experience for people who are social. She is very passionate about what she does and shares a lot of information. Overall we had a great time and enjoyed some very delicious food and company with some other fun people. It was light and easy and a great way to spend the afternoon, and have some tips and recipies to take back to my own kitchen.
- Britney - NYC, Monday, May 13, 2013
Karen Lee was brilliant. Enjoyed the class and her very positive / informative presentation. I learned alot about prepping, and using good (organic) ingredients.
- Jeff Colen - New York, Friday, May 10, 2013
This was our first cooking class. We admit we did have reservations about the whole idea when our daughter gave us the gift certificate for Christmas but we found it fun, informative and the food was good.
- Susan Mulherin - New York, Tuesday, February 26, 2013
After talking about going to a cooking class for years with my wife, she finally signed us up with Karen Lee through Xperience days and judging by the tight schedule of classes Karen has, we knew we were in for a great experience. We are amateur chefs, hardly cooking for ourselves more than once or twice per week and were looking for some tips and techniques that would motivate us to cook more often. Karen delivered! She takes the time to explain all that she does, coming up with a spectacularly creative meal including the best vegetable lentil soup I've had to date, garlic crusted tilapia (which I loved and I don't even like fish normally) with vegetable rice pilaf and sauteed asparagus and finally baked apple crisps with fresh cream. What I like about the class the most though, is the passion with which Karen undertakes the class. She is a definitive expert on spices and herbs and is so cognizant of making healthy yet tasty choices for her recipes! If anyone is up for a culinary experience with a truly passionate teacher, Karen's class is for you. And don't forget to bring some wine to complete the experience. Thanks Karen!!

We enjoyed ourselves very much. Karen Lee was a delightful instructor. She is passionate about food and does a good job of imparting lots of information about all aspects of cooking, buying the food, using the best quality of food and utensils, etc. Best of all - everything we made that day was excellent and a pleasure to eat.
- Carol Van Brunt - CT, Thursday, January 17, 2013
Karen Lee is so enthusiastic and genuinely committed to helping others eat well - she provided not just a cooking lesson, but also shopping tips, comments on kitchen equipment. She made sure everyone in the class was engaged and had opportunity to participate. We are fairly experienced cooks and can say that in this class, where we prepared and ate a great meal, that we learned quite a few new things - overall, a very enjoyable evening

I thoroughly enjoyed the cooking class. Not only was the food delicious but healthy. Karen was a great teacher with a wealth of experience.

My husband and I love to cook and have been cooking for a long time. Our experience with Karen was such fun and very informative as well! Her passion for cooking is inspiring. She navigates her kitchen with ease and expertise! She kept everyone ( all 12 of us!) engaged and laughing in the learning process, attentive to every question as well as every detail of preparation and participation. It was truly a fabulous culinary experience: great food, delightful company and engaging conversations!
- Barbara & Dennis James - New York, New York, Thursday, February 16, 2012
My wife and I love food and cooking. My wife is a great cook. We both enjoyed the experience and learned new things in the process. Karen was great, taking the time to educate us while still keeping us engaged in the experience. It is obvious that she has a great passion for her profession. I can see us doing this again in the future.
- Glenn Moschella - Colts Neck, NJ, Tuesday, January 24, 2012
This class was great! It was very hands on and Karen's apartment is very nice.
- Catherine Apostolakis - New York, Thursday, December 22, 2011
My husband & I don't have much experience cooking, but Karen was the perfect teacher for all levels. She was very welcoming and taught us so much. Her passion was inspiring, and we had so much fun along the way. We hope to take more classes again soon.
- Susan Silberberg - Garwood, NJ, Thursday, December 15, 2011
It was a great class with very personal attention. We prepared some wonderful dishes ....especially the coffee cake (to die for!) Karen Lee is a wonderful teacher and her real life approach gives you the confidence to try things at home. The other participants were fun to be with and the four hours passed by in a snap. I plan to do this again and can only recommend this xperience to food and cooking lovers.
- Beate - New jersey, Thursday, December 15, 2011
Had a great time cooking and learning with Karen. Got the cookink lesson for two as a Mothers' Day present for my mom. Great food, good company, and my mom even learned a few new tricks in the kitchen! Karen is lively, informative and makes sure everyone gets a chance to get involved and learn something new. Highly recommend!
- Brad - New York, Monday, October 31, 2011
This was a great experience! Karen is very warm, friendly, informative and puts everyone at ease. She explained everything she was doing, answered all our questions and everyone took part in cooking. The food she used was fresh and organic. There were 9 of us in all in the class. We all had a great time and enjoyed each others company, and the food we prepared together. We would do this again!
- Patty - Staten Island, Sunday, June 19, 2011
I considered myself a knowledgeable cook but learned so much from this class and had such fun doing it. My husband and I have signed up for another one already.
- Louisa & Sean - New York, Wednesday, January 26, 2011
The food from the class was delicious and Karen is obviously an accomplished and knowledgeable chef. However, the class was WAY too large and in trying to include everyone the class became extremely frenetic and there was a lot of jumping back and forth between dishes and ingredients, which was ultimately very confusing.
- Alissa - NY, NY, Tuesday, January 25, 2011
On a scale of 1-5, this class was a 10. Not only was it fun, exciting and delicious but the snippets of knowledge you get from just being in Karen Lee's presence makes this class priceless. From telling you the best markets to shop in NYC to explaining what herbs/spices are vital to your health, Karen packs it all in, in her 4 hour class. I would take it once a week if I could! It was one of the best gifts I have received. Thank you again Karen for an experience we will always remember! From Adam & Dana
- Dana DeCostole - New York, NY, Monday, January 03, 2011
We received Karen's class as a gift from our children and we couldn't have been more delighted. Karen was fantastic both as a teacher and as a cook. Her knowledge of wholesome foods snd her cooking expertise provided invaluable information even to those of us who have been cooking for a lifetime.
- Judi and George - Dix Hills, NY, Tuesday, May 18, 2010
My wife and I recently attended one of Karen Lee's cooking courses. We learned so much and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Karen is an amazing teacher with an incredible knowledge of and enthusiasm for top quality food. We could not recommend this experience highly enough and would absolutely do this again.
- James Branson - New York, Saturday, February 27, 2010
Words cannot express how great this experience was! Karen Lee was fabulous, the food was amazing and we had a blast! We attended the Valentines Day class and had so much fun preparing the food, laughing with the other couples, eating and of course drinking wine! We cannot wait to take another class in the future!
- Brian and Melissa - New York, New York, Wednesday, February 17, 2010
Had so much fun that we already signed up for another class. If you enjoy cooking or eating (and who doesn't like one or both) take the class. Karen is really good.

What an AMAZING way to spend a Saturday. Every moment was fun, full of helpful tips and very filling. Karen Lee makes everyone feel like they belong in the kitchen. We hope to be part on another class soon.
- Jennifer & Rich - Hoboken, NJ, Monday, January 25, 2010
What an AMAZING way to spend a Saturday! Besides teaching us to make some delicious dishes, Karen Lee is such a fun food loving person who really made this experience. I am NOT one to cook and I enjoyed every minute of the class!
- Jennifer & Rich - Hoboken, NJ, Sunday, January 24, 2010
We received this certificate as a Christmas gift from our family and we have to say it was an excellent idea. We enjoyed the class so much, Karen gave us so many important tips, and the food that we cooked was beyond that of deliciousness, she is really a professional and a really sweet person. She is so involved in the class and she is always making sure that everybody participates in the class. We absolutely recommend this experience you are not going to be disappointed. Thank you so much Karen, we hope to see soon.
- Daniela and Jesse - New York, Sunday, January 24, 2010
I’m writing to let you know that I thoroughly enjoyed my cooking experience with Karen Lee. I received a gift certificate for my birthday and it is by far one of the best gifts I have ever received. Karen was amazing and I could not have asked for a better “xperience.” Thank you.
- Kerry - New York, Thursday, January 21, 2010
This was a great gift to give and to get. We had a wonderful time, we are looking forward to seeing Karen again when she comes out to Long Island. The food was fantastic and learned lots of tips. You will leave full and very satisfied.
- Vanessa - Long Island, Tuesday, December 08, 2009
I bought my girlfriend a cooking class for two with Karen Lee for Christmas last year. We finally went a few weeks ago and it was wonderful! It was a very small, friendly group and we learned a great deal from Karen. She is super nice, knowledgeable, and the food was outstanding! She taught us how to make dumplings, which for us, was the highlight of the class. She has a great kitchen and workspace for a small group. Definitely worth the money too since the meal included appetizers, a few courses, dessert and we each had 2 glasses of wine. Great experience and we would definitely do it again!
- Brian Gallagher & Melissa Menard - New York, NY, Wednesday, December 02, 2009
Karen Lee is amazing. She made me and my wife feel so comfortable during our cooking experience. There was about 10 of us in this class and by the time we left I felt like we were all old friends. The food was fresh and fabulous. I finally ventured into the realm of cooking Risotto. Karen stood by me the entire time, while still cooking with others. She's a whiz! I learned more in this class than I have in all my years of cooking at home. After our experience she called the very next day, sent e-mails with more recipes, and then followed up to make sure all that was sent was received. If I could give this class more stars I would. A wonderful day with a wonderful, knowledgeable Chef!! Sign up for this class yourself or give it to a friend or family member as a gift. We are already looking for another date to do this again!
- Jon & Donnetta Stenberg - Doylestown, PA, Saturday, November 21, 2009
We received this as a gift and weren't sure what to expect. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It was very informal and very informative. The entire group (4 couples) prepared and ate a delicious meal including appetizer, soup, fish, steak & dessert. I would highly recommend it to anyone regardless of cooking proficiency. A great time. THANKS KAREN!!!
- Ron & Monica - Connecticut, Wednesday, November 11, 2009
This was a great Christmas gift from my parents. Karen was great and the food was even better.
- Jaimee - NJ, Tuesday, November 10, 2009
I received this class as a birthday present from my husband, and we both had a great time! He's a beginner and I'm the one who does most of the cooking at home, but we both learned a lot from Karen Lee about cooking techniques, equipment, ingredients, managing our time in the kitchen, and how to make delicious food! Karen was a great teacher. Also, I let her know in advance that I have some dietary restrictions and she was very kind and accommodating. Thank you Karen!
- Courtney & Brian - New York, NY, Tuesday, November 10, 2009
I would definitely recommend Karen Lee's Cooking Class. I purchased this last christmas as a present for my now fiance and we wished we wouldn't have waited so long to cash this in! The recipes were all good and the food was amazing. Karen is such a sweetheart and easy to follow with her cooking style. It's a very informal cooking class but also intimate. Definitely would consider doing this again!
- Angela & Matt - NJ, Monday, September 21, 2009
I'd definitely recommend Karen's class. Lots of fun, very informal - yet informative - and the food was delicious. She really enjoyed questions, and made a huge effort to make sure everyone participated at a level they were comfortable with. By the end, I felt like she was a friend!
- Lynne - Brooklyn, Friday, June 12, 2009
My husband and I attended Chef Karen's cooking class last Sunday. From the moment we walked in the door Karen was very friendly and answered all of our questions throughout the class. We learned alot about cooking from the cooking utensils through choosing the best and most healthy ingredients. Finally we enjoyed four extremely delicious dishes! I can't wait to book my next class!
- Elissa - Lido Beach, NY, Saturday, April 25, 2009
I just wanted to say how much fun Ashley and I had at out first (of many) cooking classes with Chef Karen. We really enjoyed the food, appreciated your fresh ingredients, and most importantly we had alot of fun. Thank you for being so warm and friendly to us. Next time, we want private lessons! We will be in touch!
- Steve C - New York, NY, Sunday, April 12, 2009
This was such a wonderful experience. We took Karen’s appetizer course Chef Karen organized an inspired menu of delicious Asian appetizers with the perfect balance of flavors. Karen guided us through the creation of her recipes: an incredible Ginger Barbeque Shrimp, ‘Pearl Balls’, and Seared Tuna all with flavorful home made sauces. Karen taught us not only how to prepare some wonderful food, she also instructed us on how to find fresh ingredients. – A truly delicious and informative time.
- The Stopps - New York, Saturday, April 04, 2009
This was a unique adventure for four women from Bergen County, NJ, in search of a memorable afternoon together. Karen Lee is not only knowledgeable and professional, but delightful as well. The three hour class flew by, during which time we collectively prepared and sampled several intriguing new recipes, picking up valuable culinary tips along the way. We were thrilled to learn that Ms. Lee is available to cater a large party or o be a Chef-For-Hire for a small at home dinner party too. This is a great class for girlfriends to share together, to give as a gift to special someone, or to simply add a new dimension to your own culinary skills. Whatever the case, I recommend you don't miss it!
- Joice - Bergen County, NJ, Sunday, March 22, 2009
The cooking class with Karen was great! She took the time to explain all the ingredients in detail and explain the benefits in using organic products along with certain spices. Everything we cooked was delicious and easy enough for me to make on my own. She made sure everyone was involved and you can tell she really loves what she does. I would definitely go back for another class! Thanks Karen!
- Marisa and Jerry - New York, Tuesday, March 10, 2009
Fantastic time had by all! Karen is not only a wonderful chef, but a great teacher too. She explained so much about the food we prepared and really took the time to elaborate on the ingredients, proper cookware and knives to use for preparing each dish. Her cozy apartment and warm demeanor made this cooking class 100% worth every penny. I very highly recommend this class for anyone who has an interest in preparing and eating beyond delicious food! Thanks Karen!
- Kate and Mike - New York, NY, Tuesday, March 03, 2009

I would highly recommend Karen Lee's cooking class. Karen is a wonderful teacher who allows you to take a hands on approach to cooking. We made a wonderful dessert, two appetizers as well as two entrees. Karen uses all organic and fresh ingredients. Not only was the food delicious but it is easy and practical to make at home!
- Sara - Morristown, NJ, Tuesday, December 16, 2008
Thanks again for the great class! We loved the hands on cooking, choice of recipes and all the preparation tips and food information provided. My husband, a reluctant attendee, is now telling everyone how much fun he had, due in large part to Karen Lee. He is singing her praise from NY to Philly. We hope to take another class in the future. - Debra
- Debra Thomson - Eatontown, NJ, Monday, November 24, 2008
This was a great class. The food was great healthy, fresh, delicious and nothing was so complicated that one would be intimidated to do it themselves or feel it was too complicated to make after a day's work. We made multiple courses an appetizer, 2 vegetable courses and a salad which we ate as we went, and then closed the night with wine, our entree and dessert. All in all, a great time and totally delicious. I'd highly recommend it!
- Katie - Brooklyn, NY, Monday, November 17, 2008
From the moment we walked into Karen's cozy home, the fun began. We were taught how to make a yummy dessert and 2 entrees. We highly recommend her class for individuals, beginners, couples and anyone in between. Karen really cares about the ingredients she uses for her class and it shows in the incredible taste in her food. A+++
- Hiyam & Miguel McKelvey - New York, Sunday, October 12, 2008

Not just a cooking class! Karen Lee brings life to the kitchen. A hands on, group designed cooking class geared towards the health conscious. Delicious would be an understatement...
