The Old Town Culinary Tour offers you and your guest the opportunity to explore parts of this historic and architecturally unique town that has prospered for over two hundred years. Your guide and fellow foodie, will take you to locally owned and operated restaurants off the beaten path where you will enjoy culinary treats such as: traditional Lebanese dishes, Old Town’s Famous 125 year old Jelly Cake, freshly brewed specialty teas, regional cuisine from a 100+ year old restaurant and local seafood specialties served in an eighteenth century captain's warehouse. After you finish this delicious Old Town Food Tour, you will be able to truly appreciate the heritage, history, and local foods of Old Town Alexandria.

 

Capitol Hill is one of the most beautiful areas in Washington D.C. and boasts some of the best and most diverse restaurants in the district, tucked into turn of the century storefronts. The Capitol Hill Food Tour offers you and your guest the chance to sample a wide variety of food and drink, from Barracks Row to Eastern Market, and everything in between. When
The Old Town Alexandria Food Tour is offered Friday thru Sunday, year round, subject to availability. Tours begin at 1:00 PM.

The Capitol Hill Food Tour is offered Saturdays & Sundays, March thru January, subject to availability. Tours begin at 2:00 PM.

The Little Ethiopia Food Tour is offered Saturdays, March to December, subject to availability. Tours begin at 10:30 AM.

Duration
The DC Metro Food Tour Experience has a tour length of approximately 3½ hours and a total duration of approximately 4 hours.

Weather
The DC Metro Food Tour Experience takes place in all weather conditions.

What to wear
Dress comfortably, flat rubber-soled shoes and layers are recommended for this culinary adventure. Flip-flops, high heels and dress-shoes are not recommended.

Additional Information
Tours finish within three blocks of the starting point and include 1½ to 2 miles of walking. There are typically five stops along the tour, each stop will last between 20 and 25 minutes.

Enough food is served that most participants will not need dinner after the tour. All dishes are served sitting down, so you can enjoy the ambiance of each restaurant while trying their specialties, and hearing their stories. All dishes served are included in the tour.

Eating a light brunch before the tour rather than lunch is recommended. The dishes you will try resemble small meals rather than traditional tastings. During the DC Metro Food Tour, each restaurant will serve water or other beverages. Alcoholic beverages can be purchased during the tour from the restaurant(s).

Unfortunately, due to the nature of the experience no substitutions can be made.

Gratuities for your tour guide are not included but are greatly appreciated and may be offered at the end of the event.

All changes to reservations for the DC Metro Food Tour Experience require fourteen (14) days advance notice.

Xperience Certificates® cannot be exchanged once a reservation for the experience has been made.
