This was fun! A one-on-one hands on experience where an instructor tells you the basics of the turntables and music theory. You get to scratch alongside the DJ for the last 15 minutes of class. Cool, but it felt like they held back a little to make me want to buy the class lessons. Overall, great fun and I wish I had more time!

DJ Lesson at Scratch Academy
I had such a great experience! My private one-on-one DJ lesson was really interesting, perfectly paced, and my instructor was awesome. I have a discovered a new, real respect for the craft of deejaying! I didn't know what to expect going in and was blown away that a place like Scratch existed. So cool!

Excellent experience! DJ Esquire is a great teacher who can either help a beginner with the basics of scratching and mixing, or show an experienced DJ some more advanced technique. He really knows his stuff!

Question: can you give me some examples who past Djs who taught the lessons were?
Answer: DJ Lessons take place at the World's First DJ School, Scratch DJ Academy, founded by Jam Master Jay, legendary DJ of Run DMC.
Instructors from Scratch DJ Academy have been teaching students of all skill levels and music genre preferences for nearly a decade.
Their roster of instructors includes innovators and icons of the art forms, accomplished club DJ's, decorated battle champions, experienced producers, and more. Plus, their collective knowledge and varied perspectives provides an unmatched learning experience. You will learn to be a DJ from the best in the business.
Scratch’s historic first semester received media attention worldwide with instructors including Jam Master Jay, DJ Premier, A-Trak, Evil Dee, and many more.
Question: At what time do the DJ lessons begin and end?
Answer: The DJ Lessons are offered 7 days a week, afternoons and evenings. The appointment times are subject to availability. You will be able to choose which time frame you prefer, afternoon or evening at the time you request a reservation. The lesson will be as long as you choose. The standard lesson is one hour, but you may extend that time to a 2 or 3 hour lesson for an additional cost.
Question: If I purchase just the DJ lesson for $125. How long is the lesson or do I have to add the option of 2 or 3 hrs?
Answer: The DJ Lesson for $125 has a duration of just over an hour. You may add the options for additional time at an additional cost. If you click on the INFO link next to the options dropdown it will show you the total price for the experience + options.
