The Shawangunk Ridge (also known as the Shawangunk Mountains, or The Gunks; pronounced by some locals as "SHONG-gum," is a ridge of mountains in Ulster County, Sullivan County and Orange County in the state of New York, extending from the northernmost point of New Jersey to the Catskill Mountains. Today this area known for its outdoor recreation, most notably as one of the major rock climbing areas of North America.

This climbing experience in The Gunks is perfect for all skill levels, from the first time climber through advanced climbers. Whether you are looking for an introduction to climbing or to brush up on your climbing skills your guide will show you the ropes and have you off of the ground in no time. Typically, the experience consist of single pitch climbing and/or top-rope climbing, but can include multi-pitch climbing for more experienced climbers.
