Climb into a Cessna 172 and experience the thrill of taking the controls of a light aircraft during this introductory 30 minute hands on scenic flight over Hartford. Discover beauty of the New England as you and a guest fly 5,000 feet over beautiful Connecticut. Your experience will begin with a briefing on the techniques and safety aspects of light aircraft flying. Then you're in the pilot's seat with a certified flight instructor guiding you every step of the way, from takeoff to landing. Whether you are looking to begin a new hobby or you are simply looking to try it, you’ll be able to say you've soared!
Participants are required to sign a Liability Release Form prior to flight. If the participant is under the age of 18 a parent or guardian will need to sign the form prior to participation.

Hands On Scenic Flight Feedback
This experience was a birthday gift. The instructor was very thorough and experienced and made me feel comfortable. The actual flying was way more hands on than I anticipated. It was an unbelievable experience and I would recommend it everyone to experience hand on flying at least once.

Hartford Flight Lesson
My experience was great. The flight instructor was hands on and very knowledgeable. I would do it again and get it for a friend as well. The best part of the flight was I proposed to my girlfriend while up in the air. It was a day we both won't forget.

Flying Lesson

Hartford Experience was Fantastic
I had a blast. My instructor was very knowledgeable. I felt safe and secure the entire time. I basically took the reigns for the majority of the experience and it was overall one of the coolest things I have done. I would definitely recommend this experience to a friend and I think I might start taking flying lessons full time! Thanks!

Hans-On Flight Harford
It was the greatest ! All of the staff made me feel comfortable and chatted with me for a bit before I started my experience. Very friendly, professional and down to earth individuals. Terry my flight instructor and pilot was absolutely outstanding in his instruction and throughout the entire flight . I didn't think I was going to be allowed to take off as part of the deal but when he said OK give it full throttle and pull back I knew this wasn't any old you can fly too program that made my day. You guys are the best. Ill be seeing all of you very soon thank you for helping make my birthday give such a success.

Hands On Scenic Flight
I'd never heard of this before getting it as a gift. It was a great way to find out what goes on behind the scenes in a plane... I either did, or got a good explanation of every step from starting the engine through to parking. Way more hands on than I thought there would be.

Flight Over Hartford
This was a great experience. I was one of the first 5 hanggliders to fly off Avon Mtn. in Avon, CT. That was in 1976. I flew many times all over New England but have not been able to fly a hangglider since 1978. This was a great experience and the pilot was terrific! I will recommend this to everyone!

Hartford Flight
Fantastic gift. I got is as a pre-gift for my boyfriend who will be doing the dog fighting flights in October. This was just to hold him over until then so my expectations were not that high. We loved it, our pilot was very nice and even let Wilson ' fly' a bit. We had never been to Hartford and loved the beautiful City,even had a picnic next to the River after the flight. There is a Park only 3 minutes away from the airport...

Hands On Scenic Flight
I purchased this gift as a surprise for my boyfriends birthday and it was truly a wonderful experience for both of us!! Very good value for money and the staff were very welcoming and courteous. The only problem was the driving directions I obtained via google were incorrect so I had to call en route which was inconvenient but I would do it again for sure!!!

Question: what is the age limit for this experience?
Answer: Thank you for contacting Xperience Days.
While there is no age limit for the Hands-On Scenic Flight, the Pilot recommends the lesson for participants ages 12 and older. All participants must be able to board the plane without any assistance and be able to reach the pedals. If the participant is under the age of 18, a parent or guardian will need to ride along as a guest during the experience.
There is no age limit or restriction for passengers.
Question: I'd like to purchase this for my husband who weighs about 240 lbs. Is he eligible to fly the plane? If I go with him, our total weight will not exceed the 475 lb. limit.
Answer: The plane used in the Hands-On Scenic Flight: Hartford experience has a per seat weight limit of 225 pounds. Unfortunately 240 pounds exceeds this limit.
We do offer another Flight Lesson with a higher weight limit.
Question: I would like to get this for my brothers birthday, however he lives in New York. He does not drive, he lives in Manhattan and I just want to check he will be able to get the subway to this place?
Answer: Unfortunately the Hands-On Scenic Flight: Hartford is not accessible via public transportation, participants would need to drive to the airport in Hartford.
The only airborne activities which takes place in New York City are the helicopter tours over Manhattan.

Answer: The Hands-On Scenic Flight: Hartford takes place from the Hartford-Brainard Airport in Hartford, CT.
Question: If there is poor weather, do I get my money back so we can reschedule? How much hands-on experience will I get when flying?
Answer: The Hands-On Scenic Flight: Hartford Experience has a 30 minute flight and a total duration of approximately 1 hour. Participants will be flying the plane for approximately 30 minutes with the exception of take-off and landing.
Participants are able to re-schedule any reservation cancelled by the Service Provider due to weather related issues directly with the Pilot.

Yes, this is hands on experiece where the participant gets to take controls of the plane. The pilot will usually take care of the takeoff and landing, however once in the air the participant will be able to spend the majority of time at the controls.
One guest is able to join the Scenic Flight. (The maximum combined weight of both passengers may not exceed 475 lbs.)
