We had an enjoyable trip. The boat was large and very clean. The person giving the commentary spoke clearly, the talk was very informative. We learned new facts about the various animals we saw. We recommend this trip to anyone interested in animals inhabiting Monterey Bay.

After living near the ocean for so many years, my wife and I finally decided to try a whale watching tour. Now I am kicking myself for not doing it sooner. It was an amazing trip. According to the crew it wasn't the greatest day to see anything because of the calm seas, but we did get to see some humpback whales and gray whales. We went out on the Princess Monterey and the crew was great always checking on everyone. Yes we had a few people that didn't have their sea legs. The captain was excellent with the narrative and explaining a lot of facts that most people wouldn't know. Now when friends or family visit we can add one more activity to take them on. Thanks Princess Monterey for a great experience.

We had such a great trip. We were a little scared that we weren't going to see much wildlife. Then we read they gurantee it by 99% which still made us a little hesitant. We have never been out on the Monterey Bay and we only live 45 minutes away so either way, whatever the outcome we would have been excited. But we got to see a mother and baby humpback whale and they even did tricks in the air and kept putting on a show! We couldn't be happier with our experience. Thank you so much and we will definitely be coming back!

This was a great experiance. The weather was perfect. The marine biologist was very enthusiastic and very knowledgeable. We saw lots of sea lions and otters. We also saw a herd of about 200 dolphins and about 5 grey whales. Our tour lasted about 3 hours. I would do this again and recommend this to family and friends.

This was a wonderful experience, from the booking to the disembarking. We went on the 1:30pm tour on August 8, 2010. The gentlemen in the office were very polite and helpful. The woman who guided the tour was very knowledgeable, having done it for 20 years for organizations including the Monterey Bay Aquarium. She gave very clear advice and instructions before we left, and was very clear in helping us spot the whales. The deckhands were friendly, polite and helpful. They continuously circled the deck making sure everyone was safe and happy. We saw many humpback and blue whales. It was exhilarating!

Rose & I went on the whale watching trip in Monterey on June 22,2010 @ 10 am. We are in our 80's and we had a blast. The narrator was a woman and she was knowledgeable, humorous and a very good hostess. Thanks for a great trip!!

The experience was great, as was the service. Our names where at the top of the list for starters. We misplaced the tickets the Whale Watching business uses to account for who goes onboard and they were very good about the way they handled it. They simply replaced the tickets no hassles. The tour itself was excellent we saw a huge Sperm Whale, and spent about 30-40 minutes tracking some Grey Whales. The Grey Whales didn't come completely out with the tail like the Sperm Whale did, but was still a great experience. Would do it again, and probably through this company.

My husband and I went on this whale watching trip in Monterey, Ca on April 6th at 10am. I have to say, it was a very fun trip! The captain was very knowledgeable about the different whales and let us know what we might be able to see. He kept in contact with other boats in the area to see if they spotted any whales. We saw three humpback whales and a large school of dolphins, which swam right under the ship. It was so much fun, my husband and I would love to go out again! Highly recommended!!

Question: I'd like to know if September(3rd or 4th week) is a good time to go for this activity? Would we be able to see the whales at this time? If not, what month would you suggest this on? Thank you.
Answer: Visit in the winter and spring (December-April) to view gray whales as they migrate from the icy waters of the Bering and Chuckchi seas, to the majestic lagoons of Baja California, Mexico. Visit us in the summer and fall months (April-November) as Monterey Bay becomes the feeding grounds for multiple whale and dolphin species including humpback whales, fin whales, minke whales, orcas (killer whales), the mighty blue whale (the largest animal to inhabit the earth), Risso’s dolphins, northern right whale dolphins, and Pacific white-sided dolphins. You’ll also have the opportunity to view California sea lions, Pacific harbor seals, southern sea otters, and seabirds such as loons, grebes, black-footed albatross, shearwaters, pelicans, cormorants, phalaropes, jaegers, gulls, terns, and alcids. And don’t forget about sharks, ocean sun fish, jellyfishes, and even the Leatherback Sea Turtle!
