Discover the thrill of riding along with a fighter pilot during this 20 minute airborne adventure! Learn the basics of aviation as you experience the ultimate aerobatic flight.

Upon arrival at the Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport, you will be greeted by your friendly Pilot. After a full briefing on tactical aerobatic flight maneuvers, you will strap in to an Extra 300L aircraft for your mission. Keep it mild or push yourself to the ultimate in extreme aerobatics – you choose how far you want to go. The adventure concludes with an exciting high-speed low-altitude pass down the runway to “wow” family and friends watching from the observation deck. After you've landed, your Pilot will play the in-flight video for all to view, and present you with a much deserved “Hero” photo.

When It Is Offered hide

The Aerobatic Hands-On Power Flight is offered Tuesday thru Saturday year-round, subject to availability.

How Long Is It hide

The Aerobatic Power Flight includes 30 minutes of ground instruction, a flight time of up to 20 minutes and has a total duration of approximately 1½ to 3 hours.

Weather hide

The Aerobatic Power Flight may be rescheduled by the Pilot due to high winds, heavy rain, fog or other inclement weather.

What To Wear hide

Dress comfortably, flat rubber-soled shoes and layers are recommended for this aerial adventure. You will be provided with a flight suit to wear during the experience.

Additional Information hide

Participation in the Extended Advanced Aerial Combat is limited to individuals fluent in English weighing more than 100lbs and less than 250lbs. Participants must be less than 6'6" tall, over 15 years of age and must be able to physically get in and out of aircraft without assistance. No previous flying experience is required.

Participants are advised to be well rested for the flight. Please avoid drinking alcohol 24 hours prior to the scheduled experience. Motion sickness is possible but unlikely and can be reduced by avoiding heavy meal(s) prior to the scheduled flight.

The planes used for the Advanced Aerial Combat Experiences are EXTRA 300L: German-Built, FAA-Certified. These planes are the highest performance certified aerobatic aircraft in the World. The Extra is used by top aerobatic and air show performers world-wide. The Extra is stressed to +/- 10G's, has a roll rate of 360°/second, and a climb rate in excess of 3200 fpm making it one of the safest and most capable aircraft in the sky. The aircraft are maintained in strict accordance with the Federal Air Regulations and the instructors, both military and civilian, have full credentials.

Participants are required to sign a Liability Release Form prior to flight.

Upon completion of the experience you will receive a Cockpit Hero Photo and an in-flight video.


Reservation Information hide

All changes to reservations for the Aerobatic Power Ride Experience require ten (10) days advance notice.

Xperience Certificates® cannot be exchanged once a reservation for the experience has been made.
