Cast off from Sayers Wharf in picturesque Newport, Rhode Island and enjoy a majestic two-hour Harbor Sailing Cruise aboard a genuine 12 Meter Yacht. Sailing aboard a 12 Meter combines the history of Newport with the unparalleled experience of sailing on an America's Cup Yacht contender!

You will enjoy historic Newport sights including the Rose Island Lighthouse, Hammersmith Farm, Fort Adams and the Newport Pell Bridge, lavish estates, aircraft carriers and historic schooners. Throughout the sail you will also learn about the history of the America's Cup in Newport. The friendly Captain and Crew will show you the ropes of this 70' vessel as you learn how to sail! You can help raise the Yacht’s sails, assist in navigating the boat by taking a turn at the helm; or just back, relax and take in the beautiful coastline views.

Who Is Included hide

The Americas Cup Sailing in Newport Experience Gifts Certificate is for one participant, unless additional are added onto the certificate. There will be 12 to 15 additional participants on the sail.

This experience is not suitable for non-paying guests.

When It Is Offered hide

The Harbor Sailing Cruise in Newport is offered Saturdays and Sundays May thru October and seven days a week in July and August, subject to availability. Weekend Sails are typically offered at 12:30 PM, 3:00 PM and 5:30 PM. Weekday Sails take place at 5:30 PM.

How Long Is It hide

The Americas Cup Sailing Trips have a cruise length of approximately 2 hours and a total duration of approximately 2¼ hours. The yacht will be under sail-power for approximately 1½ hours.

Weather hide

The Newport Sailing Trips typically run rain or shine but may be rescheduled by the Captain due to severe weather conditions such as high winds, heavy rain, fog or other inclement weather.

What To Wear hide

Dress comfortably. Flat rubber-soled shoes and layers are recommended for this sailing adventure.

Additional Information hide

Sails take place on a 12 Meter Sailing Yacht. All of the Newport 12 Meter Yachts have competed in the America’s Cup, which means that you and your guest will be sailing on a yacht built to Lloyds of London A-1 specifications, the highest standards. All Yachts are U.S. Coast Guard certified and meticulously maintained to reflect their prestigious America’s cup history.

Passengers may bring their own beer, wine and light snacks. Participation in the Two Hour Harbor Sail Cruise Experience is limited to individuals 5 years of age or older.

While motion sickness is possible, it is unlikely and can be reduced by avoiding heavy meal(s) prior to the scheduled sail. All passengers must sign a release form.

All participants must sign a liability waiver prior to boarding the yacht. Participants age 18 or younger must have an adult sign for them and participate in the sail with them.

Restrooms are available on-board.

Gratuity for the Captain & Crew is not included and may be extended following your sail.
