Explore your artistic side and learn to make your very own ceramic masterpieces during this two month Introduction to Clay Workshop in Lynn, Massachusetts. Taught by local ceramic Artisans, these Boston Pottery Classes provide you with all of the tools you need to create your very own clay works of art!

All skill levels are welcome for this Introductory Clay Course.  Whether you're a beginner or have some experience working with clay, you'll learn various wheel-throwing and hand-building techniques in order to create beautiful clay vessels. During the art classes, you will learn how to center the clay on the wheel, throw basic forms, trim, pinch and coil. By the end of this seven to eight-week pottery series, you will have a greater understanding of how to form clay into your very own sculptural art.

Who Is Included hide

The Boston Pottery Workshop Experience Gifts Certificate is valid for one participant, unless additional participants are added onto the certificate. You will be joined by additional participants in the class.

This experience is not suitable for non-paying guests.

When It Is Offered hide

Boston Pottery Classes are offered on select dates, subject to availability. Classes are held over eight consecutive weeks at the same time each week.

How Long Is It hide

The Intro Ceramics Classes take place once a week for eight consecutive weeks, each class is typically 2½ hours in duration.

Weather hide

Classes take place in all weather conditions.

What To Wear hide

Dress comfortably in clothes you don't mind getting dirty.

Additional Information hide

Classes include a 25 pound bag of white or red stoneware clay, access to the studio 24 hours a day - seven days a week throughout the session, all glazes and firings, and instruction from professional teachers that hold a Masters of Fine Arts in Ceramics.

The maximum number of students per course is 12 students.

Classes are held at The Clay School in the Historic Lydia Pinkham Building.
