Enjoy a three hour Cooking Lesson in Manhattan taught by acclaimed chef and author, Karen Lee. Featuring fresh, hand-picked, organic ingredients, you will learn how to create unique and increasingly involved dishes. Cooking Class Menus consist of classic as well as recent, unpublished recipes by Chef Lee, which are high in flavor, but low in fat.

The vegetables, fruits, grains, eggs, nuts and all other ingredients used for your meal are personally selected by the Chef from the very best New York City markets. Entrée Ideas Include:  Crispy Sautéed Scallops with Asian Spices,  Pan Roasted Strip Steak with Oregano and Garlic, Sliced Swordfish with Ginger and Scallions, Roasted Tomato Soup with Crabmeat Garnish

After you learn to cook the meal, it's finally time to sit down and enjoy your delicious creation. This New York Cooking Lesson will teach you the tips and secrets of a Top Chef and show you how to organize your time so you can actually cook a meal and eat with family and friends.

Who Is Included hide

The Cooking In New York Experience Gifts Certificate is valid for one participant, unless additional participants are added onto the certificate. You will be joined by up to ten additional participants in the class.

This experience is not suitable for non-paying guests or spectators.

When It Is Offered hide

Karen Lee's Cooking Lessons are offered on select dates, year-round, subject to availability. Classes typically begin at 10:00 AM Monday and Wednesday, 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM on Saturday, 12:00 PM on Sunday, and 7:00 PM on Tuesdays.

How Long Is It hide

The New York Cooking Classes have a class time of 4 hours and a total duration of approximately 4½ hours during the morning classes, and a class time of 3 hours with a total duration of approximately 3½ hours during the Tuesday evening classes.

Weather hide

The New York Cooking Lessons take place in all weather conditions.

What To Wear hide

Dress comfortably, flat rubber-soled shoes are recommended for this culinary adventure. Please do not wear open-toed shoes or nylons.

New York Culinary classes take place with Chef Karen Lee. The menu for each class is based on seasonal and local market selections.

Karen is the renowned author of numerous cookbooks including: The Occasional Vegetarian, Nouvelle Chinese Cooking, Soup, Salad and Pasta Innovations and more. Karen has also received acclaim from New York Magazine, Zagat, Bazaar Magazine, Time Magazine, and The New York Times.

Tuesday Night Classes offer an optional early session at from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM for no extra charge during which time you will practice knife skills and get a jump start on dinner.

All changes to reservations for the Cooking In New York Experience require fourteen (14) days advance notice. Changes to reservations are subject to a $25.00 administrative fee.

Xperience Certificates® cannot be exchanged once a reservation for the experience has been made.
