Take a walk through the Bohemian capital of the world with a true Rock 'n' roll historian during this exciting two-hour Sightseeing Greenwich Village Tour. You and the rest of the guests will explore the Village, a neighborhood synonymous with music and art, as well as the birth place of the Beat and 60s counterculture movement.

Throughout the tour you will learn about the life and triumphs of the musicians and places that have made this neighborhood famous such as Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, The Animals, Bottom Line, Gerde's Folk City, Bitter End, Woody Guthrie, Cafe Wha, Scrap Bar, Gas Light and more! During the walking tour, your guide will take you to sites where Dylan played, hang out, and lived during the 60's in New York. As you stroll the beautiful streets of Manhattan West and Greenwich Village, you’ll discover the history and culture of this charming area.

Greenwich Village Rock Tour

I bought this for my boyfriend for Christmas because he is a huge rock and roll buff and he loved it. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and you could tell he really enjoyed what he was talking about which made it much more enjoyable for all of us. Also, he had pictures to suppliment his stories so that was really cool to actually see how it used to look vs how it looks now. Personally I am not very familiar with the Rock and Roll era, but I must admit I did enjoy learning about all the history behind it all. The only thing I could complain about was the weather - it was absolutely freezing. Granted that wasn't the tour's fault, but if you can try to book your tour when it is going to be nice out because you are outside for over 2 hours. Also it wasn't that much walking so it was very manageable.

Question: I live in Manhattan and was wondering if this is good for a local to do. Despite living here for 10 years I still don't know much about the rock and roll history in the area. Should I bring my Metrocard or will we be walking the entire time?

Answer: This tour is great for locals and visitors alike! You will learn all about the rock 'n' roll history of the area an about rock 'n' roll landmarks. This is a walking only tour that centers around Greenwich Village. You'll only need your Metrocard to get home after the tour.
Question: I received this gift for Christmas and would like to know if we actually go into the buildings that the musicians preformed in?

Answer: No, the tour is narrated from the street. Many of the locations have changed so without taking the tour, many people won't realize that they're standing in front of rock landmarks.
Question: Do we stop at any clubs are bars? Are any drinks included in the tour?

Answer: No, this is a walking tour only and your guide will try to get in as much as possible during your 2 hour tour. It is recommended that you bring a bottle of water with you.
