Take the controls of a Robinson R22 Helicopter and Learn to Fly during a Hands-On Introductory Flight Lesson. This airborne adventure begins when you meet your Certified Flight Instructor at the Blaine Airport. Your CFI will take you through the pre-flight orientation and discuss the Helicopter's flight controls, teach you how to read the gauges, show you what to look for when conducting the pre-flight inspection, how teach you how to make sure the helicopter is safe to fly.

Once the ground instruction is complete, you and your Instructor will climb into the helicopter and get ready for lift-off. Enjoy amazing views of the Minneapolis and St. Paul as you learn to fly a helicopter. Throughout the 30 minute flight lesson you will have the opportunity to experience various flight conditions, including: straight and level flight, climbs, turns and descents, plus the hovering.

Who Is Included hide

This experience is not suitable for guests to join you on the flight; but, you may bring spectators to the airport to watch your Helicopter Flight Lesson

When It Is Offered hide

The Minneapolis Helicopter Introductory Flight Lesson is offered Monday through Saturday year-round, subject to availability. Lessons are typically scheduled between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM.

How Long Is It hide

The Minneapolis Helicopter Flight Lesson includes 10 to 15 minutes of ground instruction, an average flight time of 45 to 50 minutes and is typically 1½ hours in total duration.

Weather hide

The Helicopter Flying Lesson in Minneapolis may be rescheduled by the Pilot due to high winds, heavy rain, fog or other inclement weather.

What To Wear hide

Dress Comfortably. Flat rubber-soled shoes are recommended for this aerial adventure.

Additional Information hide

Your flight will take place on the Robinson R22. All participants must be US Citizens and have two forms of valid Government Issued ID (passport or driving license or a birth certificate). The maximum weight for participants may not exceed 240lbs and must be less than 6'3" tall.

Individuals who are pregnant, have broken bones or other physical conditions which are considered unsafe conditions are not eligible to participate.

All pilots are accident and incident free and the Company has a 100% safety record. Pilots are trained beyond the rating they currently hold and are Certified Flight Instructors.

Participants are required to sign a Liability Release Form prior to flight. If the participant is under the age of 18 a parent or guardian will need to sign the form prior to participation.
