Discover the ancient art of Beekeeping during this Bay Area Beekeeper Workshop & Tasting. During this three-hour experience gift you will learn about bees, honey and the hive from the best Beekeepers in the business!

The fun begins in Livermore or Felton, CA where you’ll meet the Beekeeper at Gerard’Z Honeybees. With over 100 years of history, they will pass on four generations of beekeeping fun facts and information throughout a two-hour beekeeping demonstration. You will observe how honey is produced, learning the steps at each stage of the process. From the importance of nectar to pollination of flowers, wild bee colonies and beehives, this Introduction to Beekeeping provides you with a sweet overview.

Once the demonstration is complete, you will enjoy an hour long honey and wine tasting to further enhance your newly gained knowledge. So whether you are looking for fun things to do in the Bay Area or for a unique gift, this Honey Tasting is the ticket!

Who Is Included hide

The Honey and Wine Tasting Beekeeping Workshop Experience Gifts Certificate is valid for one participant, unless additional participants are added onto the certificate. There will be additional participants in the class.

This experience is not suitable for non-paying guests or spectators.

When It Is Offered hide

The Beekeeping Workshops are offered on select Saturdays and Sundays year-round, subject to availability. Classes are typically scheduled to begin at 10:00 AM or 1:30 PM.

How Long Is It hide

The Bay Area Beekeeper Classes include a 2 hour demonstration, a one hour honey and wine tasting and have a total duration of approximately 3¼ hours.

Weather hide

The Beekeeping Honey and Wine Tasting Classes take place in all weather, but may be rescheduled by the Beekeeper due to sever weather conditions.

What To Wear hide

Dress comfortably in long sleeves and pants. Flat rubber-soled shoes are recommended for this culinary adventure. Please do not wear open-toed shoes.

Additional Information hide

Classes take place at Gerard'Z Honeybees who provides local raw natural honey and specialty monofloral honey to Bay Area and Central Valley consumers. Individuals who are pregnant or have other physical conditions and or allergies which are considered unsafe are not eligible to participate.


Reservation Information hide

All changes to reservations for the Honey and Wine Tasting Beekeeping Workshop Experience require fourteen (14) days advance notice.

Xperience Certificates® cannot be exchanged once a reservation for the experience has been made.
