About This Experience

Experience first-hand what it's like to Fly a Plane during this Introductory Hands On Flying Lesson over Central Pennsylvania. You will learn the necessary skills to co-pilot a light aircraft as you soar 2,000 feet over Harrisburg and the surrounding countryside.

The fun begins at the Harrisburg International Airport where you will meet with your Certified Pilot Instructor and receive a 30 minute briefing on the techniques and safety aspects of light aircraft flying. After the ground instruction, you will hop into the co-pilot's seat and prepare to takeoff on this 30 minute Flight Lesson with a Certified Flight Instructor by your side at all times.

Who Is Included hide

The Learn To Fly A Plane Over Harrisburg Experience Gifts Certificate is valid for one participant.

This experience is not suitable for guests.

When It Is Offered hide

The Harrisburg Discovery Flight is offered Sunday through Friday year-round, subject to availability. Flights may be scheduled between 8:00 AM and 7:00 PM.

How Long Is It hide

The Central PA Flight Lesson includes 30 minutes of ground instruction and an average flight time of 30 minutes. The total experience time is approximately 1 hour.

Weather hide

The Introductory Discovery Flight may be rescheduled by the Pilot due to severe weather conditions such as fog, high winds or heavy rain.

What To Wear hide

Dress comfortably, layers and flat rubber-soled athletic shoes are recommended for this aerial adventure. Sunglasses and a camera are also recommended for the Flight Lesson.

Additional Information hide

Flights will take place in either a Cessna 172 or a Flight Design CTLS. The maximum weight of the participant may not exceed 240lbs.

Participants must be at least 14 years of age or older. Individuals who are pregnant, have broken bones or other physical conditions which are considered by the Instructor to be unsafe conditions are not eligible to participate.

Participants will be required to sign a Liability Release Form.
