Listen to the alluring and enlightening sounds of Gospel Music as you learn about the history of African American Gospel Culture. This Four Hour Sightseeing Tour will take you through the Brooklyn and Manhattan neighborhoods that are intertwined with beautiful gospel music. You will even get to enjoy the sounds of a famous NYC gospel choir.

The entertainment begins in Manhattan where you meet your friendly guide in front of a local Church. Here you will discover how gospel music and its culture emerged. Then, you and the rest of the guests will take a quick subway ride to the charming neighborhood of Brooklyn Heights. Enjoy a leisurely stroll past the gorgeous brownstones, impressive mansions, and historic churches. Get a look at the church that launched Gospel Music onto the world stage. Discover the father of Gospel music, and how Gospel influenced well known artists. Finish the tour with a trip to see a famous Grammy-winning New York Multicultural Choir in a church with a concert hall setting.

So, sit back and enjoy the soulful sounds of Gospel Music during this New York Gospel Sightseeing Tour and explore the city in a new way.

Who Is Included hide

The New York Gospel Tour Experience Gifts Certificate is valid for one participant, unless additional participants are added onto the certificate. There will be additional participants on the tour.

This experience is not suitable for non-paying guests or spectators.

When It Is Offered hide

The Gospel Tours of New York are offered on Sundays, year-round, subject to availability. Tours typically begin at 9:00 AM. Tours held in Spanish are available on Sundays March thru December at 8:30 AM.

How Long Is It hide

The New York Tours are typically 4 to 4½ hours in length.

Weather hide

The New York Sightseeing Tours take place in all weather conditions.

What To Wear hide

Comfortable, semi-casual attire and comfortable walking shoes are recommended for this adventure. Tank Tops, shorts and flip flops are not permitted out of respect for the congregation hosting the tour.

Additional Information hide

Tours include less than two miles of walking and do not end at the meeting location. A metro pass must be purchased prior to the tour for a minimum of two stops. All ages are welcome on the tour, but keep in mind you will be standing a majority of the four hours. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

There will be approximately 25–32 participants on the tour. The tour guide wears a portable microphone an speaker to ensure all participants can hear.

Tours do not run on on the following Holidays: Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, the Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year's Day.

This tour is not Wheelchair accessible. Service animals are allowed on the tour, however pets are not.

Gratuities are not included but are greatly appreciated and may be offered at the end of the event.
