Join us on an enticing tour of the oldest and largest everyday open-air market in the Country. During this two hour guided walking tour you will have the opportunity to explore the tantalizing shops and stalls of the 9^th street Italian Market.

The fun begins when you meet your friendly and local Guide on 9^th street. As you and the rest of the guests head towards the Market, your Guide will point out some of Philly’s iconic mosaic art created by local artists. Soon you will begin to smell the aromas and hear the sounds of the famous Italian market. Your tastebuds will be tempted as you are guided through the market past fresh baked bread, homemade chocolate, fresh pasta, cheeses, herbs, rows of colorful produce and more. As you meet purveyors that have been around for generations, you will hear fascinating stories of the history and development of the area. You will soon discover how diverse the market has become over the last century and a half as you discover Mexican, Korean, Vietnamese, Cambodian and Chinese eateries.

Fun, easy-going tour

My boyfriend and I received this tour as a gift and ending up having a lot of fun. We live in Philadelphia so we were tourists in our own city for a day. Miriam our tour guide was lovely and knowledgeable about stops on the tour. It was really nice that she new many of the store owners and staff by name and clearly had a rapport with them. The tour itself was easy-going and she gave us time to browse and shop around. The time passed easily and two hours went quickly! We retraced our route and stopped back in some stores again on our way back to our car. Highly recommend!
