Fly like a bird over Austin, Texas during a Discovery Hang Gliding Flight in and get towed by either a Boat or a Light-Sport Aircraft. Following a brief orientation, you will head outside with your Certified Instructor and prepare to take flight!

This airborne adventure provides you with a wonderful way to learn about hang gliding and is a great way to have fun. You will be introduced to the glider and suited up prior to take-off. Then it's time to take to the skies, you will soar through the beautiful Texas skies for approximately 30 minutes.

The Tandem Flights in Austin is offered seven days a week subject to availability. Tandem Hang Gliding Trike Tows are typically offered June thru August, and Tandem Hang Gliding Boat Tows are typically offered June thru August. Flights are typically scheduled between at 8:00 AM and 3:00 PM.

The Tandem Discovery Flights have an average flight length of 30 minutes and a total duration of 1 hour.

Does Weather Impact Flying Lessons

The Austin Tandem Flights may be rescheduled by the Instructor due to severe weather such as high winds or heavy rain.

What to Wear for Flying Lessons

Dress comfortably, layers and flat rubber-soled athletic shoes are recommended for this aerial adventure. Participants will be provided with all necessary equipment. Be prepared to get wet if choosing the Boat Tow!

What To Know Before You Go

Participation is limited to individuals weighing less than 225lbs and are at least 16 years of age. Individuals who are pregnant, have broken bones or other physical conditions which are considered unsafe are not eligible to participate.

Participants are required to sign a Liability Release Form. Participants under the age of 18 require written consent by a parent or legal guardian on the day of flight.

The experience was extraordinary to say the least. Ever dream of flying with virtually nothing separating you from the sky? This would be you opportunity! My pilot (Jeff) has a joy to be around and during our flight pointed out all the cool sights and scenery. At one point he even piloted us through a cloud! I can not recommend this experience enough.
