Enjoy the fresh air and beauty of St. John’s River during a four-hour sailing lesson in Jacksonville, Florida. Taught by a seasoned Sailor and Certified Instructor, you and your guest will get a taste of what it’s like to sail during this half-day Introductory Sailing Course.

The fun of this experience gift begins at the Lamb's Yacht Center Marina where you meet the Captain and board 23’ Keelboat for your hands-on sailing lesson. Tailored to meet your specific skill level and sailing experience, the Instructor will discuss the theory of sailing, points of sail, teach nomenclature, go over a few rules of the road and safety at sea. They will also demonstrate response of the boat to the movement of the helm, teach you how to trim the sails, tie a few knots and more! So whether it’s your first time on a sailboat or your looking to improve your nautical skills this t. John River Sailing Lesson is perfect.

Who Is Included hide

The Jacksonville Intro to Sailing Experience Gifts Certificate is for one participant. This is a private lesson.

You may invite one guest to join you and take part in the lesson at no additional cost.

When It Is Offered hide

The St. Johns River Sailing Lessons are offered seven days a week, May thru September, subject to availability.

How Long Is It hide

The Introduction to Sailing has a lesson length of 4 hours and a total duration of approximately 4¼ hours.

Weather hide

The Sailing Lessons may be rescheduled by the Instructor due to high winds, heavy rain, fog or other inclement weather.

What To Wear hide

Dress comfortably, flat, non-marking rubber-soled shoes and layers are recommended for this sailing adventure.

Additional Information hide

Instructors are USCG Certified Captains.

While motion sickness is possible, it is unlikely and can be reduced by avoiding heavy meals prior to the scheduled sail.

Individuals who are pregnant, have broken bones or other physical conditions which are considered unsafe conditions are not eligible to participate.

Participants are required to sign a Liability Release Form. If the participant is under the age of 18 a parent or guardian will need to sign the form prior to participation.

Gratuity for the Instructor is not included and should be extended following the lesson.
