• Historic fishermans wharf a must see

  Rob our guide knew the area really well and the history of how Fishermans Wharf evolved.
  Lots of cool shops and some retro shopping. Rob even took us to a museum with old amusement games which was super cool.

  Robert was our tour guide for the Haight Murder Mayhem tour. He was so knowledgeable, passionate and brought the stories to life we thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
  After making sure we got on the right bus home, we asked Robert if he was leading anymore tours, he let us know about the Fisherman's Wharf walking tour which was near our hotel which we signed up to as soon as we had WiFi!
  Having spent a week around Fisherman's Wharf, we thought we knew the Wharf pretty well...
  Robert kindly shared his vast knowledge of San Francisco Wharf with us, including the history of how it all started, where to eat that wouldn't break the bank, and the fascinating exhibits that we as tourists wouldn't have given a second look.
  Would strongly recommend Robert as your tour guide, his knowledge, experience and honesty was refreshing with his personality shining through.

  Robert was a great guide full of knowledge about the area and its history. My family (3 of us) really appreciated his insights and enjoyed the tour. Would recommend to anyone visiting Fisherman’s wharf.

• Not a good situation

  Was given the wrong pick up info. Was there early and finally guide called to as where we were. At the wrong place. Told me such way to go and meet the group into the tour. Seri was confused and after a lot of walking I called guide x2 and he didn’t answer . I gave up, then he called and I told him forget it. I have NEvEr missed a tour. NO REFund of any kind! Boooo hisss

• Great sightseeing

  Great fun with lots of unique things to see. The best were all the sea lions basking in the sun. This area is clean and offers unique sites.

  John Hurst is a great tour guide, very knowledgable of the local area and its history, it was great to do the walking tour with him on our first visit to San Francisco, and we were the only ones on the tour!

• Fabulous, fun intro to Fisherman’s Wharf!

  Cool, fun, informative, easy tour. Sharlene’s “family stories” about local businesses & landmarks were great, as were info & tips about eateries & restrooms! Especially enjoyed the Musée Méchanique. Sharlene was wonderfully patient & helpful when I was delayed on public transportation. Definitely recommend this tour with Sharlene!!

  Jamie, once again, a wonderful host. Extensive knowledge of the Bay Area and all its history. The Fisherman’s Wharf tour is a must do walk if you want to get an overview of the area and a personal touch of history and interesting facts.

  We had been in this area of San Francisco already for 4 days before the tour with Rob. He took us off the beaten path of Fisherman's Warf into areas we hadn't explored or hadn't found yet. We decided to go back to those areas after our walking tour to explore them even further. It was so nice to see places away from the main tourist areas! Thanks Rob!

• The best Alcatraz Tour prelude

  Jamie’s communication skills and knowledge were first rate. He was extremely personable and entertaining. I definitely recommend this tour as a prelude to your Alcatraz visit.

• Nice Introduction to Fisherman’s Wharf

  The walking tour was perfect for us. I enjoyed the historical background. We went to places we would not have discovered on our own and highlighted some places we wanted to visit later. You can add things onto the trip but we wanted just the 1 hour walk. It gave us time to explore afterwards. The guide, John, was very personable, knowledgeable and pleasant.

• The perfect way to see a lot in 90 minutes!

  We were only in town for 24 hours and we wanted to see SOMETHING but we had a tight timeline. This tour was perfect - Jamie is a knowledgeable guide and will also take family pictures for you! In an hour and a half we were able to see the beach and trolleys, Golden Gate Bridge, the Ghirardelli factory, sea lions, a fabulous arcade game museum (sounds odd but it was a highlight for us!) walk along Fisherman’s Wharf and pier 39, and gaze at Alcatraz. Jamie recommends good spots for local seafood and takes you through a market where you can even grab some fresh crab that they will pack in ice for you!

• Real San Francisco interesting story with local guide

  I don't think there's any commentary, so I like the commentary. It was a valuable time to learn about the history of San Francisco. Recommended restaurants and stories were information only available on this tour! It was great to know why this restaurant is famous and what to eat through storytelling! Especially in Fisher's Manwarf, it was really interesting to see that there is a taste that can only be found in San Francisco, and I could also solve the souvenir problem - it would be better if it wasn't raining, but it was a really profitable time 🙂

  Knowledgeable young man leading the tour, however a bit of a fast pace especially considering we asked he slow down for my spouse who uses a cane to walk. Still finished tour at least 10 minutes early.
  Tour itself was good and met our expections.

  Robert was a wealth of knowledge about the history and current trends in the Wharf area. This is an easy and enjoyable walking tour. It did seem short compared to some other walking tours but Robert shared a lot of information.

  I went on a tour with Maggie, and she was fantastic! Very friendly and had lots of details about the area. Also gave us recommendations about where to eat and what to do after. Very nice!

  I thought the tour was alright, so so. While it wasn’t the best I’ve ever experienced, it wasn’t the worst either. For my first visit to the Wharf in San Francisco, I appreciated having the tour, but I’m not sure it was entirely necessary, as the sites were mostly within easy walking distance of each other. I might have been able to follow a similar itinerary on my own.
  
  There were a few interesting or funny moments, but I found myself getting bored and distracted at times. Given the price, it might be worth it, but there could be better tours available, so I wouldn’t necessarily recommend this one as a “must-do.” The guide was friendly and knowledgeable, but I didn’t feel very engaged throughout the tour.

  Amazing atmosphere with Jamie! Funny thoughtful and super authentic. We walked through fisherman’s wharf and were left at the entrance to the Alcatraz tour.
  Jamie provided hints and personal tips- I checked the Ice cream fudge of Ghirardelli!! Worth a try!!

  Wealthy was a very interesting tour guide. I enjoyed his casual conversation. He was very knowledgeable. The only “issue” is the tour doesn’t end where it started and you kind of have to find your way back.

• Peir 39, Seal Lions, View of Alcatraz, and Antique Arcade Games

  We did the walking tour and went to an old arcade game museum, Musée Mécanique. That was a highlight. Very unique and special place.
  Our tour guide, John Hurst, explained the reasoning behind rail road tracks at the end of the pier. I won't spoil it...go find out. Interesting! John recommended places to try out the clam chowder bread bowls too.

  Such a great experience with John! He was very informative and spoke clearly and kept the group going at a great pace to see and experience the Wharf. I would have like to have it start earlier as it was nice to see a lot of the behind the scenes things like the businesses getting ready for the day and the seals without the crowds!

  Rob is a historian. He told the story of San Francisco's wharf. Our whole group was engaged throughout the tour. As an SF resident, wish I did this sooner.
