Sit back, relax and enjoy the magnificent Key West sunset during this relaxing two hour Schooner Sailing Trip aboard the magnificent America 2.0.

This outdoor adventure begins at the Historic Seaport at Key West Bight. Here you will be welcomed aboard the 105’ vessel by the friendly Crew. A replica of the 1851 Schooner America, this gorgeous ship offers padded seats, teak decks, mahogany-trimmings, and 3600 square feet of canvas sails! Once the Captain navigates the Schooner away from the dock and has her under sail, you will be able to sip on complementary beverages as you take in the views of Fort Zachary Taylor, Mallory Square, Sunset Pier and Sand Key Light Tower! Don’t forget to be on the lookout for dolphins, sea turtles, and water birds!

The Key West Schooner Sails are offered seven days a week November to April. Sunset Sails typically depart between 4:00 PM and 6:30 PM, depending on the time of year.

The Sunset Sail in Key West has a sail length of 2 hours and a total duration of approximately 2½ hours.

Weather

The Key West Sailing Trips take place in all weather conditions, but may be rescheduled by the Captain due to high winds, heavy rain, fog or other inclement weather.

What To Wear

Dress comfortably, flat, non-marking rubber-soled shoes and layers are recommended for this sailing adventure.

The America 2.0 is designed after the famous Schooner America that was built in 1851 in New York harbor. That same year, America won the international race known today as the America's Cup.

Complimentary beer, soda, and water will be provided on day sails. Wine and champagne will be available for purchase. Three rounds of drinks will be served, but this is not an unlimited booze-cruise. The aim is to create an elegant, relaxing, peaceful, and safe experience for all guests. Food is not served during the sail, but passengers are welcome to bring snacks or a light picnic on board.

Smoking and outside drinks are not permitted on board the Schooner. Complimentary ponchos will be provided if it begins to rain. The Schooner is not Wheelchair accessible.

Participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Gratuity for the Captain and Crew is not included and is appreciated at the end of the cruise.

All changes to reservations for the Key West Schooner Sunset Sail require fourteen (14) days advance notice. Reservations may only be rescheduled once.

Key West Sailing Trip

Our sailing trip was wonderful! We were a group of six people who all would highly recomend this trip. The captain and crew were skilled, and took great care to make our sail fun and memorable! The cruise was fantastic! Not only is this a chance to see a beautiful Key West sunset from the water, it's also a wonderful sailing experience. We were lucky enough that there was a brisk wind and choppy seas so it was an adventurous sail. The crew was extremely profession handling the sails in the winds and they were also very friendly and courteous. Question: My girlfriend bout us on a Schooner Sail in Key West for our anniversary. I've gotten seasick on boats before, but not every time. How steady is this cruise?

Answer: If you get seasick only on small vessels you should be okay. The yacht is 80 feet and very stable and it is pretty rare for passengers to get seasick. If you normally take medication for motion sickness you may want to consider it, however the cruise company cannot officially advise you to take any.
Question: I would like to gift the Schooner sail in Key West to my parents. In the description is says the "America" is based on a 19th century design. Are there bathrooms on the ship?

Answer: Yes, there are two bathrooms or "marine heads" on the ship. It is a simple pump design and directions are posted how to use them.
