Take on Skateboarding, a modern sport, originally nicknamed ‘sidewalk surfing’ in California during the 1950s, with an hour individual skateboard lessons. In the heart of New York City, you will learn to use the city structures as your playground for your wheels.

You may start the course as either a beginner, intermediate or advanced skateboarder. If you begin as a newbie, you will learn how to properly stand on skateboard, proper form, turns, accelerations, stops, safety, and fun easy tricks! If you choose to add on to your additional skateboard knowledge, the intermediate lessons will include kick turns, carve and grind, tail, drops, axle drops, axle stalls, tail taps and more! Advanced lessons will include ollies on a slanted surface, pop shove it, and other advanced techniques like ramp riding!

No matter what level you are, this New York Skateboard Lesson is a great way to have fun and improve your skateboard skills that you can take with you from Manhattan to wherever.

The Manhattan Skateboard Lessons are offered Tuesday thru Sunday year-round, subject to availability. Tuesday thru Friday sessions are available from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Saturdays and Sundays from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

How Long Is It

The NY Manhattan Skateboard Lessons have lesson time of 1 hour and has a total duration of approximately 1½ hours.

Weather

The NYC Skateboard Lessons may be rescheduled by the Instructor due to heavy rain or other inclement weather.

What To Wear

Dress comfortably, the following items are recommended for this adventure: Long pants, a comfortable shirt, jacket or sweatshirt, lace-up tennis-type shoes and socks that cover ankles.

The Skateboarding School was founded by Luiz Louie (or Louie Louie, as most people know him as). Louie was born and raised in New York City. After spending the first thirteen years of his life in Lower Manhattan's Chinatown, his family moved to Brooklyn, where he picked up his first skateboard and hasn't stopped since. Louie has been a professional skateboarder sponsored by numerous companies for the past 10 years and he has been teaching children and adults how to skateboard for over 8 years.

Participants are required to sign a Liability Release Form. A parental signature on the Minor's Release Form is required for students age 17 and younger. Price does not include equipment rental.
