With its haunted houses, maze-like cemeteries, and black magic rituals, New Orleans is a mecca for fans of the macabre. This 2-hour small group walking tour takes you back in time, to explore urban legends and ghostly goings-on. Learn about the horrifying hauntings, ghastly killing sprees, vampire sightings and voodoo spells that have chilled the city for centuries. You’ll visit the infamous LaLaurie Mansion, where Marie Delphine Macarty tortured and killed slaves back in the 1800s, the Ursulines Convent where a demonic presence was felt by the nuns, and two reporters were mysteriously decapitated and drained of blood, St Louis Cathedral, said to be haunted by two priests who still walk the halls, and Muriel’s, one of the most haunted restaurants in the city. Ghost-hunting sure works up a thirst, so start with a drink in a local bar, and enjoy another along the way in the atmospheric Lafitte’s Blacksmith Shop.
